He Didn’t Kidnap Me. Not Exactly novel Chapter 233

Chapter 233

Helia, Desmond’s dance partner, felt uneasy about letting Rebecca help her.

“Rebecca was like this back at school, taking great care of us underclassmen,” Desmond chuckled, winking at her. “Don’t worry about it. Let’s go, or we’ll end up blocking the aisle.”

Half–understanding, Helia proceeded without another word. But on the path to baggage claim, she asked him for clarification.

“Rebecca wants to lend a hand. She is concerned about not being useful to the troupe. If she offers to do something, just let her,” he explained.

She nodded in realization, then regarded him with a playful smile.

“What’s so funny?” He rolled his eyes before quickening his pace to catch up with Rebecca.

Rebecca had just turned on her phone and activated the local SIM card. It connected without issue, and a flood of messages poured in, including a couple from Josette asking if she had arrived safely. 3

She replied: [We’ve landed without any problems.]

Then she checked out the other messages.

Nancy. [Mr. Bradford is searching for you, Madam. He came to ask me.]

Rebecca: [Just tell him you don’t know.]

The rest of the messages were mostly from Vance.

[Where are you?]

[Why can’t I reach you?]

[Are you at home?]

[Don’t tell me you haven’t returned since yesterday!]
