He Didn’t Kidnap Me. Not Exactly novel Chapter 163

Chapter 163

(Daisy’s POV)

“I just saw this. I didn’t know about it before now.”

For a moment, I genuinely thought I had heard him wrong.tared at the folded paper in his hand, then back at his face, and then at the paper again because my brain simply refused to process what he had just said

“What?”

My mouth opened, closed, and opened again. “You just found it?’

“Yes.”

I blinked rapidly. “But…” I pointed at the letter. “That’s impossible.”

His braws drew together slightly but he says nothing.

“No, I mean actually impossible.” I took a step toward him, my confusion growing by the second. “I left that on your door.”

The silence that followed was immediate.

“What?”

‘I left it on your door,” I repeated. ‘After I wrote it. I literally stuck it there.”

DeLuca looked down at the paper in his hand, then at me, and then back at the paper again before saying quietly, “But I never saw it.”

My stomach dropped. Not because I didn’t believe him, but because I did. Completely.

The realization hit me so hard that I instinctively reached for the wall beside me. If Deluca was telling the truth and somehow I knew he was – then everything that had in the past days had happened under a completely false assumption.

“You never saw it,” I repeated.

Our reality suddenly felt strange. Strange and stupid.

Because this changed everything. Every fight we’d had. Every cold response. Every misunderstanding. Every awful conversation that had left me lying awake at night replaying words and wondering where everything had gone wrong. All of it suddenly looked different now.

I pressed a hand against my forehead. “Oh my God.”

DeLuca remained silent.

‘Oh my God.”

I shook my head immediately. “No, because this is insane.”

I looked up at him again, still hoping somehow that I had misunderstood. “You really never saw it?”
