Warren Griffith said immediately, "It was Phoebe Evert."
Carson Foster's gaze shifted as he asked, "Does Phoebe know Ashen's true identity?"
Warren shook his head. "No, she's a fan of Nocturne. She likes him, and because Nocturne refused to participate if Ashen didn't come, she resented Ashen. That's why she helped me come up with this idea."
The cold harshness in Carson's eyes gradually turned into a look of dark amusement. Phoebe was a fan of Nocturne?
Yet Phoebe had no idea who Nocturne really was, nor did she know who Ashen was.
He originally hadn't planned to let Warren off the hook, but he changed his mind now. He turned to the gallery owner and asked, "The damage has already been done, and Ashen's reputation has been severely smeared. Even if I killed Warren right now, it wouldn't clear Ashen's name. Mr. Sterling, how do you think we should fix this?"
Warren couldn't help but shudder when he heard Carson casually mention killing him, his face draining of color.
Quentin Sterling, the gallery director, looked utterly ashamed. "This is entirely our gallery's fault. I'll have Warren publicly apologize to Ashen immediately to minimize the damage. Whatever else Mr. Foster wants to do, we will cooperate fully."
"There needs to be a public apology, but not from Warren. I want Phoebe to do it!" Carson's dismissive tone was laced with a chilling edge. "Hold a press conference and make Phoebe personally apologize to Ashen!"

When Quentin approached Phoebe, she naturally refused to apologize. She didn't even admit to giving Warren the idea.
Quentin, exuding the refined air of a scholar, twisted a bracelet of golden wood beads around his wrist and called her bluff. "I've already had someone check the security footage. You were indeed the one who gave Warren the idea."
Phoebe sneered inwardly, though her gaze looked even more earnest. "It's fine. As long as it's for the good of the gallery, I don't care if people curse at me."
Quentin nodded in satisfaction. "Get ready. I'll have someone invite the press."
Riding a tiger and unable to get off, Phoebe had no choice but to agree.

Seated in the center of the press conference, Phoebe stood up, introduced herself, and then bowed deeply in apology. "First, I want to apologize to Ashen. I'm sorry."
"I received incorrect information and thought Ashen was refusing to participate. When I discussed it with a colleague, it happened to be overheard by some media outlets conducting interviews at the gallery, and they spread the false narrative."
