Seeing Sabrina completely frozen, Lillian offered a sharp reminder. "It's almost time for me to head to work, Mrs. Mercer. Can you afford to waste my time?"
Instantly, Martin, Brandon and Colin piled on the pressure.
Martin barked, "Sabrina..."
Brandon added, "We have a morning meeting, Sabrina. Hurry up, or we'll be late."
Colin sneered, "Rip the band-aid off, Sabrina. You have to do it anyway, so quit stalling and get it over with."
With the relentless pushing from all sides, Sabrina was out of options.
She cast a desperate, pleading look at Sebastian, but the shrewd billionaire had already averted his gaze, completely ignoring her.
He had zero intention of getting involved. He was only there to find an opening to reconcile with Lillian. He was desperately trying to get back in Lillian's good graces; he certainly wasn't going to stick his neck out for Sabrina Ward.
Realizing no one was coming to her rescue, Sabrina closed her eyes in defeat.
"I was wrong. Please forgive me..."
After forcing out those agonizing words, she clamped her mouth shut, refusing to say anything more.
Lillian let out a cold scoff. She didn't actually care how much Sabrina said.
Having Sebastian there was the real victory. She just wanted to force Sabrina to bow her head in front of an audience.
The woman who had shamelessly stolen another woman's life now suddenly cared about her dignity?
Dream on.
Lillian couldn't care less how genuine Sabrina's supposed repentance was.
For her, landing a direct, devastating blow to Sabrina's ego was all that mattered.
Using Sebastian's sudden arrival to witness the spectacle was perfectly timed.
That single word pierced right through Martin's chest.
Thankfully, Brandon was there to haul his father back to his feet.
Seeing that Lillian was preparing to leave, Sebastian panicked and hurried after her. "Lillian, Noah is sick. He misses you so much, and he's been crying for you. Please, just come see him."
Lillian paused mid-step.
*Sick?*
Her mind instantly flashed back to a few years ago. Noah used to get sick so easily back then.
Whenever he did, he became incredibly clingy, refusing to sleep unless he was curled up in her arms.
But things were different now.
She turned to look at Sebastian. "Sick? Don't you get it, Sebastian? Noah doesn't need me anymore."
