Family on Their Knees Heart Turned to Ice novel Chapter 1190

This time, the Mercer family car passed through the gates of Halfridge Villas without a hitch. However, their access was strictly limited to this single morning window. Any other time, they would be barred from entry.

Lillian had her breakfast moved to the garden. Eleanor usually joined them in the formal dining room, but she was absolutely thrilled by the change of scenery. Acting like an excited child, she picked a handful of vibrant roses and arranged them in a vase on the patio table, adding a bright pop of color to their morning.

Eleanor's condition was severe, but her eye for beauty remained untouched. It was as if certain aesthetic instincts were carved into her bones. Even with her fragmented memory and diminished cognitive abilities, every flower she chose was flawless.

Lillian inhaled the sweet scent of the roses, a warm smile spreading across her face. "Mom, the flowers you pick are always the most beautiful ones in the garden."

Eleanor beamed. She could always understand praise and recognize genuine warmth. In this house, she was constantly showered with compliments, which kept her in high spirits almost every day.

As the staff served the food, Lillian spoke in a soft, gentle tone. "Mom, we're having some guests over soon. You might not recognize them, but that's okay. They're here to put on a performance for you. You can just sit back, eat your favorite food, and watch."

Eleanor blinked, her head tilting in confusion. "A performance? Is it fun?"

Yet, Eleanor had clearly suffered extreme trauma during those two years, leading to her violent triggers. Since moving to Halfridge Villas, she hadn't hit anyone—until Noah showed up.

Lillian was convinced Sabrina was the monster behind her mother's suffering, and today was the perfect opportunity to test that theory.

After Lillian's explanation, Eleanor looked visibly excited. The staff finished laying out the extravagant breakfast, carefully curated by Sienna Brooks and Mr. Peregrine. Every dish was a masterpiece of flavor and nutrition.
