Family on Their Knees Heart Turned to Ice novel Chapter 1149

She gave up on him a long time ago. No matter what he does now, she is never going back to him."

The elder Blakes saw the situation with crystal clarity, but nothing they said could get through to Sebastian.

He actually believed he still had a chance to reconcile with Lillian.

But if Lillian had any desire to reconcile, why would she be with Leonard?

Naturally, Sebastian refused to consider any of this. His mind was singularly focused on his obsessive pursuit of her.

Lillian rushed forward, taking her mother's hand. Sure enough, there were faint traces of dried blood.

Lillian realized her own heart had hardened significantly.

Whether it was toward Sebastian or Noah, she had finally learned how to be ruthless.

Pushing the thoughts aside, Lillian took the antiseptic swab from the nurse and carefully dabbed the small punctures on her mother's hand.

When the cold liquid hit the cuts, Eleanor flinched and tried to pull away.

Lillian smiled warmly at her. "Let me blow on it. It won't hurt if I blow on it."

She leaned down and gently blew a few soft breaths over the scratches.

It was exactly what her mother used to do for her when she was a little girl, coaxing her with promises that blowing on the scrape would make all the pain disappear...
