Dumped My Cheating Ex. Now I'm Sleeping Next to a Billionaire CEO novel Chapter 1550

Dean instinctively reached out to grab the hem of her jacket. Just then, the public address system chimed to life outside. The voice requested the guests' attention, announcing that the wedding ceremony was about to officially begin and instructing everyone to move to the deck to witness the sacred moment.

Dean's outstretched hand paused in mid-air, and a bizarre, mocking smile spread across his face. Emmy ignored the broadcast entirely. She yanked the door open, desperate to sprint outside. But the moment the door swung wide, two burly men stood like solid brick walls, completely blocking her escape route. Emmy's footsteps slammed to a halt as a crushing wave of despair washed over her.

From behind, the unhurried sound of Dean's footsteps approached. He taunted her, asking if she heard the announcement that James was about to marry another woman. He mocked her earlier declaration, asking if this was what she meant when she said James was better than him in every way. Dean told her that James had betrayed her too. Stopping right behind her, Dean stared at the blood smudged on the corner of her lips, his gaze turning sickeningly infatuated. He softened his voice, coaxing her like a lost child, begging her to come back to him. He promised he would do absolutely anything for her if she only returned to his side.

Emmy turned her head slowly, casting a frigid glare at him. Wiping the blood from her mouth, she asked if he was willing to turn himself in to the police.

The smile on Dean's face froze for a fraction of a second before he broke into a soft chuckle. He asked her to stop joking, promising to agree to literally anything else but that.

Locking eyes with him, Emmy enunciated every word with lethal precision. She told him to go die. She stated that if he committed suicide, she would forgive him.

Gripping the metal bars tightly, half her body already hanging over the edge, she screamed for him to stay back. She threatened to jump if he took even one more step forward.

Dean's pupils constricted in absolute terror. He commanded his guards to freeze, stopping them from rushing forward to grab her. He turned and roared furiously, calling them useless trash who could not even stop a woman.

Taking advantage of the pause, Emmy swiftly swung her other leg over the railing. While keeping a vigilant watch against any sudden moves from Dean, she deliberately straightened her back. She had to make herself as visible as possible, clinging to the microscopic hope that Will or someone from Calony's camp might spot her from below. It was only when she fully mounted the railing and glanced downward that Emmy realized the horrifying truth. They had been taken to the absolute highest point of the cruise ship. Far below lay the sweeping deck and the churning black ocean. From this dizzying height of several dozen meters, the people below looked like mere specks, and her position was practically invisible to anyone on the ground. Burning with panic, she gritted her teeth and forced herself to edge carefully toward the absolute outer lip of the terrace.
