Naomi racked her brain, trying to visualize every detail.
In all the time she'd known her, she had rarely seen her afraid of anyone.
Even the legendary Mr. Griffin of the occult world was casually called an old bastard to his face.
News of her kidnapping had Murray entirely on edge.
"Boss, do you think the Grovers made a move?"
Right after the wedding announcement, she gets snatched? Murray didn't believe for a second that the Grovers weren't involved.
Nancy Grover was completely unhinged right now.
Knowing that he and Maeve had been legally married for over a year—right after she had left the country, no less—Nancy must have been practically coughing up blood in rage.
When people act on pure impulse, there's no telling how irrational they might become.
Andres also felt that the Grovers were the most obvious suspects given the timing.
Naomi waved the theory away.
"I don't think they were sent by the Grovers."
"Maeve despises them. If it was a Grover hit squad, she never would have gotten in that car quietly."
"Besides, those SUVs didn't look like they were from Aethelburg. I was a bit too far to read the plates, though."
"Call the cops. If they pull the traffic cams, they can track where the convoy went."
While she spoke, Andres dialed Maeve over and over, continually hitting her voicemail.
Hans burst into the private room, immediately addressing the group.
"We've located the vehicles. They're currently parked at The Grand Horizon Hotel."
The kidnappers had actually taken her to a hotel owned by Andres himself. Now that was incredibly interesting.
Meanwhile, inside the Presidential Suite of The Grand Horizon Hotel, Maeve was locked in a staring contest with her 'kidnapper.'
The man possessed a terrifyingly dominant aura and strikingly handsome features.
He sat there, expressionless and silent, radiating an icy hostility that screamed 'keep out.'
She lunged at him, trying to snatch the phone from his pocket, but he caught her wrist in an iron grip.
Just as they started physically wrestling over it, the heavy suite doors were shoved open from the outside.
Andres stormed into the room surrounded by his security detail, only to find his wife engaged in hand-to-hand combat with a man he had never seen before.
The sight instantly ignited his rage.
Who had the absolute death wish to kidnap his wife, in Aethelburg, right in the middle of his own turf?
"Don't be afraid, Maeve. I'm here."
At that same moment, another team of bodyguards flooded in from the adjacent rooms. The tension skyrocketed, turning the suite into a powder keg.
Seeing Andres charging toward them, fully prepared to beat the man to death, she quickly shouted to stop him.
"Whitty, calm down! We're all friends here."
Andres glared furiously at the man who had abducted his wife.
