Stella stepped forward, blocking Vanessa's path.
"Miss, you'll need to sign an NDA. Otherwise, you're not leaving here today."
It was the first time Vanessa had ever heard such an absurd demand.
Her eyes turned frosty. "You have zero authority to force me to sign anything, and I have absolutely no obligation to cooperate with you."
"That's not up to you!" Willow strutted over, crossing her arms. Her eyes landed on Vanessa's outrageously stunning face, and she paused for a second before hardening her stance. "Stella, get the contract."
A few minutes later, Stella handed over a document.
"Sign it, and you're free to go."
Vanessa gave it a cursory glance and couldn't help but laugh out loud.
"If the confidentiality clause is breached, Party B must pay a penalty of fifteen million dollars."
It was more tyrannical and ridiculous than a cutthroat corporate merger.
"Hurry up, stop wasting my time. Do you have any idea how valuable my schedule is?" Willow urged impatiently.
"I'm not signing a damn thing." Vanessa ripped the paper in half and tossed the shreds right over Willow's head.
Willow stood frozen in shock before hissing, "Do you even know where you are? Do you know who my boyfriend is?"
"I don't care who your boyfriend is. I said I'm not signing it."
"You..."
Furious, Willow raised a hand to slap her. Vanessa's eyes narrowed dangerously. She grabbed the woman's wrist mid-air and shoved her back forcefully. Wearing three-inch heels, Willow stumbled, caught completely off guard. If Stella hadn't grabbed her in time, she would have eaten dirt.
"I'm not your mother. I won't humor your tantrums," Vanessa said coldly.
Willow pointed a trembling finger at her, enraged. "You actually laid a hand on me. I'll make you pay for this."
"Sterling City operates under the law. I highly doubt you have the power to cover up the sky."
"Miss, her boyfriend is Mr. Rhodes, the owner of Azure Club. Crossing her won't end well for you," Leah whispered as she crept up beside Vanessa.
Who cared if he was a boss? She was Boss Grant!
"You should cut back on the shady business at this club. Save yourself some karma."
"My hands are tied. But I swear, I never force anyone. It's always their own choice."
Just then, Zachary's phone rang.
He picked it up, glanced at the screen, and answered. "What is it?"
Hearing the frantic whining on the other end, Zachary frowned. "Who has the guts to touch my woman on my turf?"
"Stay right there. I'm on my way."
Zachary hung up and stood. "I need to go handle a minor issue."
"Is Miss Grant still not here?" Nolan checked his watch. "Even with traffic, she should have arrived by now."
A barely perceptible frown creased Alistair's forehead. He dialed Vanessa's number.
"Where are you?"
