Vanessa poured her a glass of water as Elena continued.
"It's about our regional jewelry ambassador. I know an actress who has the perfect aura, and I wanted to recommend her."
Vanessa genuinely hadn't given the ambassador position much thought yet.
She had heard the previous ambassador was embroiled in a scandal and had her contract with Vittini terminated.
"Do you have her profile?"
Elena tapped a few times on her phone.
"Sent."
Vanessa opened the file and glanced over it. It was a popular rising starlet known for her innocent, stunning looks. She had recently won Best Actress for her latest hit series and was currently the hottest name in the industry.
Vanessa tested the waters neutrally. "Are you a fan of hers, Elena?"
Elena smiled. "I saw her helping an elderly lady cross the street on my way to work once, so I figured she was a decent person. Vittini needs an ambassador who embodies purity and kindness, someone untouched by scandalous rumors. I looked into her personal life. Since debuting, she has had zero controversies. She's single and highly disciplined."
So that was it.
"She's certainly gorgeous. I'll take it into consideration."
"Great."
Vanessa never expected that before she even reached out to her, she would cross paths with the so-called innocent starlet, Willow Royce, at Azure Club.
That evening, she got a call from Alistair asking her to meet him at Azure Club.
She had just parked her car. As she turned the corner, the sound of an argument reached her ears.
"Leah Jenkins? Have you looked in the mirror lately? You really think someone pathetic like you has the right to steal Zachary Rhodes from me?"
"Willow, I really wasn't... Mr. Rhodes was the one who asked me to come here."
"He asks and you just come running? Why are you such a slut? Don't think just because Zach helped you once that you can seduce him!"
"I've had the pleasure of seeing you online, Miss Royce."
Vanessa had actually searched her name that very afternoon and asked her assistant to pull up some background checks.
She certainly hadn't planned on accidentally stumbling upon her hidden, vicious side tonight.
Hearing this, Willow's face darkened instantly. "Since you know who I am, you should know what to keep to yourself. Mind your tongue, or you'll regret it."
She had painstakingly built an image as an innocent, naive, and harmless sweetheart. Seeing that bitch Leah today had reminded her of how distant Zachary had been lately, causing her to lose her temper. She hadn't expected anyone to catch her in the act.
Vanessa offered a faint smile. She hadn't planned on getting involved anyway. And of course, she was immediately scrapping Willow as a candidate for the Vittini ambassadorship.
"What are you laughing at?" Willow warned coldly. "If even one word of this gets out, I'll destroy you!"
Vanessa ignored her completely and turned to walk away.
Seeing her blatantly disregard the threat, Willow shot a sharp glance at her manager.
