Chapter 363

Sprocket POV

We went to the cottage so the three of them could talk, cry, and begin healing all the past hurts in

private.

Bonkers was exactly what Stinger and Skittles needed.

They bonded straight away.

The smiles, laughter, and grieving all at once were music to my ears.

Those three had it tough, even Bonkers, who had tried so hard to get custody of the two of them, but found the hoops he had to jump through and the court’s preference for a child being with the mother, hard. Plus, the mother made it harder by hiding the children, making it impossible to talk to or visit them, and casting him as the villain. In the end, he gave up, trying to see them, as the courts were not on his side, and it had nothing to do with the lifestyle he lives, because she was in the same style. Something else was blocking him, or someone, and he couldn’t get to them. The club she was now at wouldn’t let him on their turf, no matter how hard his president tried to support him. Skittles and Stinger were both too young to fight her, and when they were old enough, they didn’t know if they wanted to fight her because of all the lies their mother had told over the years.

But all that started to melt away when they got together and talked. It was beautiful to witness. “So, Sprocket, it appears you mean a lot to my girl. When are you going to make it official?” Bonkers asked, out of the blue, catching me by surprise.

“Daaad!” Skittles whined, dragging out the ‘A‘ and blushing. It was getting late; we had work tomorrow, and Bonkers had a lot to do too, with decisions about the bodies and generally setting up his new life. He is a mechanic, and a bike club can never have too many of those, plus he has experience with old bikes and can restore them, as Fixer does.

“I was waiting for Skittles to be settled in her job and the club, but if you don’t think it’s rushing it,

then.”

I turned to Skittles and got down on two knees, and looked up at her, holding both her hands so that she couldn’t back away.

“Skittles, I am on both knees, because I am begging you to be my woman, and wear my name on your cut, yours on mine. I am beyond asking, I am yours whether you say yes or not, but if you say no, I will follow you around like a bad flea on a dog, that you can’t get rid of.” I put on my puppy dog’s eyes and batted them at her, pushing out my bottom lip, and looking as helpless and desperate as I could.

“Aw, how do you say not to that?” Stinger laughed, along with Bonkers. I can’t believe I am doing

this in front of her brother and Dad.

“Yes.” Skittles leaned down and whispered it in my ear.

I grabbed her and somehow stood up with Skittles in my arms and twirled her around.

“Does that mean she said yes?” Stinger asked, as Skittle giggled in my arms.

“Yes, yes, yes,” Skittles called out, as I spun her around one more time, before getting dizzy and stopping before I embarrassed myself.

“Good, I can plan something for next weekend. I am sure Storm and Tempest can get it organised,” I said, all excited, my girl would be officially mine.

“Skittles, I am walking you down that aisle. It has been my dream since you were born, and now it can be a reality.” Bonkers had taken Skittles from me and was holding her to his chest, hers for less than a day, and was already as if he had always been there. Heck, he hadn’t even unpacked his bags yet. All this was running fast.

“Go to bed, it’s late, we can continue this later, we have work in six hours.”

“What? Where had the time gone?” Didn’t push them out the door; instead, Bonkers took a pillow and blanket, and nestled in the lounge, and Stinger took the spare room, neither wanting to leave.

Sleep came quickly; neither of us wanted more than to spoon and sleep.

“Bugger, must have forgotten to set the alarm, thanks.” He placed the tray on the bedside table, leaned in and gave a soft kiss on Skittles‘ cheek, making her rouse from her sleep. She’s not usually this deep a sleeper.

“Yeah, guess Bonkers was excited about it. Can we manage this weekend?”

“Spoke to Jip, he had already made a patch for both of you when he saw how close the two of you were, and it was obvious to anyone with eyes, where it was going. So, in answer to your question. Yes, Tempest has it all under control.”

“Wonderful. Thanks, any news with the other club, and what do they want with the bodies?” Changing the subject, because this had been on my mind more than my wedding plans.

“They don’t want her, and are boxing up all their stuff and sending it to us to deal with. There is no sign of the six that joined them. But even if they had returned to the club, we didn’t know who the six were, so we couldn’t identify them for the police. The bikes were plain, I think covered up to hide who they belonged to, and even the number plates were false. This was well planned, and I think maybe it was the club’s way of getting rid of the two of them.”

“Why our turf?”

“Can’t answer that one, not yet anyway. Maybe because this was where that woman wanted to go, to try and get her children back under her control, and took the first opportunity they could to take her and him out.”

Skittles will wear an outfit that a few have worn now, almost like a tradition has set in. The same dress Fixer and Tempest wore. Storm, Skunk and Doom will stand up for me, as I had for them, and Skittles will want Journey, Tempest, and Wrench. It was all planned in that short time while we were both at work, Friday afternoon, the quieter day, but many members can be here.

I left to pick up my girl, and hope all went well today. She can’t work on her mother’s investigation, but there’s always plenty of other work that keeps her busy. She loves the job, and that’s all that counts in my book. Her assignments have been rolling through fast; apparently, she can do them at her own pace, and if she can push them out quickly, she gets to graduate early. Knowing my girl, she will finish her advanced degree early.

Skittles was running late. I waited nearly an hour before she came rushing out of the place. She looked tired but happy, throwing herself at me, when she reached me, leaning against the bike. Just seeing her has me all churned up inside, with emotions that could only be called love.

She has my heart fluttering and my stomach churning, my jeans getting tight, just by looking at her.
