Chapter 92 I'm Not Going Back
"Boohoo! Blanche, poor you."
Blanche shook her head a little. It was like she was trying to shake away the worries.
"No more talking about me. How have you been?"
"I just got a new job. I work at the biggest five-star restaurant in Cloud City. I'm telling you that I've been very lucky lately. I won a free trip at a raffle held at the Plaza. Unfortunately, there was no one to cover my shift. I couldn't go. Otherwise, I'd love to take my mum on a trip."
Blanche suggested enthusiastically, "How come no one is covering for you? I'll cover your shift. You take your mum on a trip."
Erin felt embarrassed and hesitant. "That's not a good idea. I'll be travelling for days."
"It's okay. Just go. Don't mention it."
"Blanche, thank you. I'll bring you a present." Erin couldn't wait to throw herself toward Blanche and kiss Blanche.
At the table next to the two of them sat a leering man, rubbing his chin and staring at Blanche, who had a disgusted look in his eyes.
At that moment, an expensive SUV pulled up in front of the restaurant, and two men quickly walked into the restaurant.
The other customers in the restaurant looked over and had a look of admiration on their faces.
"Wow, these two men are so handsome."
"So handsome! But they just look kind of badass. So serious."
The moment Erin heard the muttering, she was the first to look at the doorway. Then, her eyes lit up. She recognized one of them as Louis and immediately became excited.
"Blanche, am I mistaken? Louis is here. Is he here to take you back?"
Blanche looked over. She was just in time to see Louis looking towards her. He had a cold look in his sharp eyes. Blanche got goosebumps and wondered why Louis had come.
Louis came in and sat down on the couch by the doorway. He folded his legs and looked dignified.
Eric looked at Louis and frowned. Then he turned and smiled at Blanche.
"Blanche, my brother finally found you. I've come to take you back. You're coming with us."
Blanche was shocked. How could Louis come to pick her up? She wouldn't believe it.
"I'm not going back. I'm staying at my friend's tonight. I'm not going back later. I'm still young. I don't want to be punished every day. And what I did was just an eye for an eye. I didn't do anything wrong."
It was not hard to imagine Tammy not letting Blanche off the hook when she went back. And she wasn't brain damaged.
Eric was stunned for a moment. Then he tried to persuade Blanche.
"Blanche, it was my brother who came to take you back. It's the first time I've ever seen him pick someone up."
It wasn't that Eric was surprised, but he really found what had happened today quite unbelievable. After all, Louis had never stooped to looking for someone in the middle of the night. It was rare to see Louis act like that.
Blanche turned her head in the other direction.
He had been sizing up Blanche at the next table, and he had the itch to talk to Blanche, for Blanche was so beautiful.
"Pretty girl, how about leaving your contact details? We can get to know more about each other."
Blanche frowned. She noticed the man staring at her breasts. Then she felt nauseated.
She snapped, "Go away."
"Don't be so rude! I'll pick you up and take you to my place when you're done eating. I just saw you running into the restaurant soaking wet. You must have had a fight with your husband. That man who just came to see you is your husband, right? We're not going back tonight. I'll comfort you."
The man said nasty things. As he walked closer to Blanche, Blanche smelled the odor of sweat.
"Stay away from me! Or I'll call the police." Blanche turned on her mobile phone and started dialing the numbers.
"Gee, you're so grumpy! But I won't be intimidated by you. Why are you so pretentious? You're all wet. You're trying to seduce me! Don't be such a prude." The disgusting man yanked up one of Blanche's arms and was about to drool. He had never seen such a white arm.
Blanche slapped the man across the face.
"Fuck off."
"Shit! How dare you hit me?" The man incredulously touched his burning cheek. Then he brutally squeezed Blanche's shoulder and raised his hand to smack Blanche back.
Blanche immediately tried to break away. Unfortunately, she couldn't. After all, men were always stronger than women.
As Blanche watched the greasy palm come down, she could only turn her face away. Louis stepped forward, grabbed the disgusting man's hand, and spun it.
