Buying My Forever Wife novel Chapter 252

Mrs. Gable laughed helplessly.

"Of course he came back. If it weren't for Mr. Foster last night, you probably would have slept on the couch until morning. You really don't know your limits when you drink, do you? Do you even remember what you did?"

She had watched the entire spectacle from the sidelines.

The girl had absolutely tortured Mr. Foster.

Despite looking thoroughly disgusted, Mr. Foster still coaxed her into his arms, carried her upstairs, and tucked her into bed.

Ivy collapsed back onto the sofa in absolute despair, racking her brain to piece the night together.

She did have fractured memories of the evening.

She just thought it was all a dream.

She never imagined it had actually happened.

She recalled clinging to Mr. Foster, sobbing relentlessly, and constantly forcing kisses on him.

Realizing it wasn't a dream but undeniable reality, Ivy's blood ran cold. She wanted nothing more than for the ground to open up and swallow her whole.

Why did she have to lose control like that?

Mr. Foster must be utterly repulsed by her now.

Close to tears, Ivy looked up at the housekeeper. "Is he... is he really furious?"

Mrs. Gable thought for a moment before shaking her head.

"I don't think so. He was quite gentle when he had breakfast and took the little miss to preschool this morning. He didn't seem angry at all."

"Really?"

"Don't worry. No matter how much of a fuss you make, he's still your husband. He won't hold it against you, but please, don't drink like that again."

Ivy nodded fervently, swearing she wouldn't.

If she ever touched a drop of alcohol again, she would be a complete idiot.

Knowing Stella was safely dropped off at preschool, Ivy forced down a quick breakfast and headed to work at Metropolitan General.

Gemma's condition had improved significantly.

Whenever she was free, she would stroll around the ward to stretch her legs.

Gemma quickly realized how incredibly high-end this medical center was.

On her floor alone, every suite held only a single patient, each room astonishingly spacious and luxurious.

The hallways were always completely silent.

There were only ever one or two nurses casually manning the station.
