Even in bed, Ivy refused to settle down.

She wrapped her arms around Alaric's neck, showering his face with kisses before squinting at him with a goofy smile.

"Hubby, you're so handsome."

"I'm so crazy about you, Hubby."

"Let me kiss you a little more, okay?"

After speaking, she kept rubbing her tear-streaked face all over his.

Alaric pushed her away in disgust, his large hand completely covering Ivy's small face as he issued a cold warning.

"Ivy, stay back. Look at what a mess you are right now."

It was bad enough she looked a mess, but she was also getting her tears everywhere.

She was rubbing everything against him.

Pushed away, Ivy sat cross-legged on the mattress and burst into loud wails again.

"Waaah, my hubby doesn't love me! He thinks I'm gross! He doesn't like me... waaah!"

She cried for a bit, then threw a tantrum, pounding her fists relentlessly against the bed.

Alaric tossed aside his ruined vest, climbed onto the bed, and clamped a hand over Ivy's mouth once more.

"Stop making a scene, okay?"

His patience was completely wearing thin.

Alaric actually thought she had listened, but the moment he let go, she lunged forward to kiss him again.

Succeeding, she sat back with a triumphant giggle. "I just wanted to kiss you. You smell so good, so sweet."

Swallowing his temper, Alaric wiped the saliva off his cheek. Afraid she would throw another crying fit, he had no choice but to humor her.

"Fine, you can kiss me. But I need to go wash up now. Be a good girl and go to sleep. We can do more kissing tomorrow, alright?"

"Can I really kiss you tomorrow too?"

Ivy didn't quite believe him. She stared at him with wide, adorable eyes, blinking innocently.

Seeing her so animated, half of Alaric's frustration melted away. He answered patiently.
