Ivy glanced over at the man beside her.
Dressed in an immaculate suit, his expression was cool and composed. He sat with a quiet, powerful stillness, radiating an innate, untouchable elegance.
A man like him was a born king—it was impossibly hard not to fall for him.
And what was she?
She was just a weed that had sprouted from the mud.
What kind of insane luck had she stumbled into back then? Not only did she manage to catch his eye on the very first try, but she had made an incredibly bold demand, and he had actually agreed to it.
Looking back on everything that had happened since they signed the marriage papers, Ivy felt like her life had turned into a surreal fantasy.
She had even gone and fallen in love with him.
Right now, enjoying the exact same luxuries as him, flying across the country on a private jet for a business trip...
Ivy was terrified this was all just a beautiful dream.
And that the moment she woke up, it would all be gone.
"Get some sleep if you're tired. It's a three-hour flight."
Noticing that his little wife was lost in thought, her mind clearly wandering miles away, Alaric finally spoke up to pull her back to reality.
Ivy shook her head. "I'm not tired."
The truth was, she was exhausted.
After all, she'd barely slept last night after the intense physical toll he'd put her through.
But this was her very first time on an airplane—let alone a private jet.
Ivy was far too excited, constantly pressing her face toward the window to look outside.
She kept carefully pulling out her phone, desperate to take pictures, but terrified of embarrassing the man sitting next to her. In the end, she just clutched her phone in her lap, eagerly soaking in every detail of the cabin with wide eyes.
A few moments later, the flight attendants brought out the food.
There were pastries, fresh fruit, a full-course meal, and an endless array of beverages.
Acting entirely like someone who had never experienced luxury before, Ivy couldn't hold back any longer and tentatively raised her phone to snap a photo.
Watching her hesitate, Alaric said smoothly, "If you want to take pictures, just take them. Don't hide it. Just keep me out of the frame."
Ivy understood immediately. With her husband's permission, she started snapping photos of everything.
After she finally put her phone away, she looked at him with a shy smile.
