The chat exploded, the sheer volume of hate crashing the feed. Within seconds, the platform permanently banned the broadcast for violating terms of service.
The show was dead. And Seraphina was destroyed.
Her mission accomplished, Gael shoved Seraphina backward. "Perfect ending."
Seraphina collapsed onto the rough concrete. The impact scraped the skin off her palms, but she was too numb to feel it.
Her chest heaved violently. She glared at Gael, her eyes bloodshot and deranged.
"I'll sue you!" she shrieked, her voice tearing like sandpaper. The veins in her neck bulged, making her look like a cornered demon. "Armed assault on a live broadcast! You're going to rot in prison!!"
"Oh, this?" Gael chuckled, casually spinning the combat knife around her fingers. "Open your eyes, you idiot. It's a prop. A replica."
Seraphina froze.
The entire crew stared in stunned silence.
A prop?
Gael crouched down, playfully tapping the flat of the fake blade against Seraphina's trembling, distorted face.
"This was Clio's parting gift to you. She figured since you loved the spotlight so much, she'd give you the grand finale you deserved. How's that for prime-time entertainment?"
Seraphina completely snapped.
Her shock morphed into pure, unadulterated hatred.
"I'll kill you!"
Screaming like a banshee, she lunged at Gael, her hands aimed straight for her throat.
Gael's eyes flashed cold. She casually stepped aside and delivered a brutal, ringing slap straight across Seraphina's face.
