The situation was already a raging inferno.
Sebastian had publicly declared Lily was his legitimate daughter, not a child born out of wedlock. Yet Ian and Raelynn's upcoming wedding was an open secret within their elite circles. If the Hudsons wanted to wash their hands of the mess, they had to offer the Croix family an explanation—one that inherently meant de-escalating the conflict.
Swapping the bride would be a win-win for everyone.
Ian's face remained utterly impassive as he looked down at the woman so earnestly plotting to save his family's reputation. After a long moment, he spoke, his voice freezing cold. "So, to you, human emotion is a joke. A cheap commodity to be swapped out the moment the price is right."
Sierra's eyes fluttered. She bit her lip and shook her head. "That's not what I meant. I just think the Hudson family is sitting on a powder keg right now. You're facing pressure from the Croixs on one side and public scrutiny on the other. It has to be hard on you."
Ian's expression was grim. "Who exactly are you?"
Sierra blinked, caught off guard. "What?"
He stared her down. "Haven't you and Raelynn established that you're sisters? Yet here you are, her own sister, helping me strategize how to humiliate her by canceling the wedding. Did you forget you're an Yves? Running over here to form an alliance with me, urging me to abandon her and break my promise... What kind of person does that make you?"
Panic flared in Sierra's eyes. Her doll-like face flushed crimson as she scrambled for a defense, her eyes welling with tears. Her helpless, frantic demeanor was a masterclass in playing the victim, designed to trigger any man's protective instincts.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean it like that. The Yves and Hudson families have been close for years, and we've known each other for so long. I just couldn't bear to see you dragged down by the gossip..."
She choked on a sob, acting as though Ian's words had wounded her deeply.
Ian, however, possessed zero desire to play the gallant knight. His only concern was that Raelynn had been taken away by Sebastian.
Whatever Sierra's damage was, it was none of his business.

Literally on edge!...
No, no, no! Sebastian needs to nip the Zella situation and win Raelynn back! Also, Leo, he is a wildcard for Sebastian's master plan... Sebastian- we know you know, what we know, win your family back!...
I thought now Sebastian and Raelynn will be together now that seraphina is not but you are not letting them to be. Two new female around Sebastian 😭...
I think Ian is sly. He is not what he seems. Sebastian loves Raelyn and they have a daughter together. Besides he has no family to even take care of him. I feel Raelyn should realise that Sebastian is only her true love and go back to him....
