Boss, Your Wife Signed the Divorce Agreement Before the Wedding novel Chapter 724

And right next to it was Raelynn's signature, signed long ago.

She had actually accepted these incredibly degrading terms.

Sebastian's thumb slowly traced the slightly faded ink of her name. He looked up at her. "You were certainly agreeable. Letting the family walk all over you, offering you this pathetic, cheap payout, and you signed it without a second thought."

His tone was impossible to read.

Raelynn remained completely composed, stating the facts. "The day I signed that, you were rushing to catch a flight to LA. You left without a backward glance. Did I really have any reason to hold out hope for you, or this family, to justify refusing to sign?"

Besides, she had never been after the Croix family's money.

When they had reunited all those years ago, she had been overjoyed, only to be met with Sebastian's freezing indifference. He had seemingly wiped her from his memory entirely, showing zero interest in catching up. But she had met him right as she was coming of age, and spending time with him had made her fall deeply in love.

Back then, she had foolishly believed they were destined to be together. So, even when Forrest Croix forced this humiliating seven-year expiration date on their marriage, she had willingly accepted it. She thought she could use that time to make him fall in love with her.

She had been so stubborn that she even refused to tell him she was the one who had saved his life. She didn't want to trap him using a debt of gratitude.

But reality had crushed her. It had all been a pathetic, one-sided delusion.

"So Ian Hudson was just a backup plan?" He completely ignored her deflection. "You were already with him back then, yet you didn't ask for a divorce right away. Were you not confident you could keep him hooked, or were you just so desperately in love with me that you couldn't bear to let go?"

Raelynn flushed with sudden anger.

"That's none of your business. Stop flattering yourself," she snapped, her patience gone. "And I'm warning you—don't push me. Especially with this insane plan to trade me to Ian for real estate. You might want to sell me off to the highest bidder, but I'm not going to play along." She couldn't let his disgusting betrayal go.

Sebastian suddenly tossed the divorce agreement onto the table.

He leaned forward, closing the distance between them until he was invading her space. His dark eyes locked onto hers. "If he's willing to pay the price, then he's a good catch. But if he isn't... shouldn't you be reconsidering if he's even worth marrying at all?"
