Begging for a Second Chance (Sienna Sloan and Jarred Sterling) novel Chapter 57

His explicit teasing sent a wave of furious heat rushing through Sienna.

She raised her hand to slap him across the face.

But he caught her wrist effortlessly in mid-air.

Jarred pinned her arms above her head, locking them in his grip.

His towering frame pressed down heavier, casting a dark shadow that entirely engulfed her.

His warm breath ghosted over her lips, his gaze swimming with dangerous, intoxicating heat.

"Sienna, you have two choices today," he said, spacing out every syllable. "Either you be a good girl and come with me to the manor, or we stay right here, and I take you until you can't walk."

Sienna stared up at him.

She looked at the face hovering mere inches from hers, at that familiar smile that had once made her heart flutter.

A sudden, suffocating wave of disgust washed over her.

The sheer revulsion clawing up from her stomach made her shiver.

She blurted out, "Jarred, I am physically repulsed by you. If you dare touch me, I will take you down with me."

Jarred froze for a split second.

He stared into her eyes, taking in the raw, unmasked hatred burning within them, and instead of getting angry, he laughed.

Not the devilish smirk from earlier, but a genuine, echoing laugh.

He lightly traced the curve of her cheek with his fingertips, his tone laced with mock injury. "I cleaned up the absolute mess you made, and this is how you repay me? Being so mean?"

Sienna was so infuriated she could only let out a bitter laugh.

"The mess I made?" She wrenched her wrists against his iron grip. "If your grandmother hadn't sicced her thugs on me, do you think I would have lifted a finger? They were the ones who humiliated me first!"

Jarred stared down at her.

He knew Sienna's temper well—she was a spark that could ignite a powder keg.

Arguing with her would only lead to a never-ending fight.

He released her wrists, his tone softening a fraction, carrying a hint of concession. "Fine, let's drop it. As long as you come with me to the manor, I promise I'll smooth everything over. I won't let you be wronged."
