Against Cruelty, She Grew Strong (by Anastasia Glover) novel Chapter 670

Chapter 670 A Deal With The Devil

He raised the pipe again-aimed to shatter her skull- Then Manna burst in, screaming

“STOP!”

The pipe froze mid-swing, “Manna?”

“You promised me-no torture!

“She’s not dead yet, is she?”

Todd tossed the pipe aside, casually flicking blood off his hands.

Manna looked past him-at the broken, barely-human thing on the ground.

She stopped breathing.

“Kill her-and what do we use to threaten Norman?”

“Bullshit! Norman won’t give in! She’s useless!”

“If she was useless, why would he go this hard against you?”

That landed.

Todd’s head cooled. He thought about it.

He knew Norman. If he really didn’t care, he’d have hung up already.

Why negotiate?

He’d acted on impulse.

But…

“She’s still breathing. Patch her up. Get a doctor.”

Manna swallowed her anger, “Fine.”

Todd laughed, walked over, and let his hand wander under her clothes.

“You rushed over that fast-do you actually care about her?”

She held back her disgust, “Of course. I hate her. Dying too easy would be letting her off.”

“Really hate?”

“Would I have helped you find her if I didn’t?”

He thought for a second, then patted her backside.

“Call the doc-just keep her alive. Come find me after. I’m getting itchy. You’re still the got.”

She knew exactly what that meant.

The still-unhealed scars on her back throbbed.

But refusal had never been an option.

“Okay. I’ll be up soon.”

Todd walked off, satisfied.

Manna approached the prone figure, her eyes dark.

“Why are you so stubborn? Todd gets off on that-the more you push back, the worse it go

Tammy didn’t answer-just kept breathing, shallow and faint.

“If you’d just begged, you wouldn’t have suffered this much.”

A tiny laugh escaped- ragged and rough.

“Did begging ever help you?”

Manna’s fists clenched, “You’re mocking me? If it weren’t for me, you’d already be dead.”

Tammy slowly lifted her head, a half-face of blood and grime.

Their bodies were carried out.

He was still cursing, “Norman-you think you’ve won? I’ll destroy you. Where’s Manna? Get her here! These losers all die too fast-boring.

Todd had a short fuse and no fighting skill-but he was vicious. He’d tortured many to death. Manna had only survived because she was built tough.

One-on-one, she could’ve killed him a hundred times.

But she couldn’t.

Todd was paranoid. Even in bed, his guards were watching. Any move she made-she’d before she got to him.

She couldn’t take them all.

So she endured.

The door opened. Manna walked in.

Todd’s face lit up, “Manna-come over, you’re the best!”

She went to him.

“What about that woman?”

“Still alive.”

“Tough. She’ll be fun too-send her to my room once she’s patched up. Haven’t had Norma woman yet.”

“Her honor.”

Manna sweet-talked him, and he used her rough as always.

When he was done, he passed out snoring.

Manna was covered in blood-fresh wounds layered over old. Barely standing.

She fell the second she tried to get off the bed.

The guard on duty reached out instinctively, then saw she was naked-looked away.
