A Widow's Poison, A Wife's Rebellion novel Chapter 963

Tanya was completely and utterly disillusioned with Darian.

Over in Marina City, a full week had passed before Darian finally showed his face. He walked in, his gaze immediately dropping to her stomach! Since the moment he arrived, Tanya hadn't uttered a single word. Her demeanor was as icy as if she were looking at a complete stranger.

"You..." Darian started, opening his mouth but suddenly finding himself at a loss for words.

Tanya finally met his eyes. Darian's gaze shifted to the small kitten curled up in her lap.

"You shouldn't be around pets right now!" he reprimanded softly. He'd heard that a pregnant woman's body was delicate, and contact with animals should be avoided.

"What else do you want to control?" Tanya asked flatly.

Darian fell silent.

"I can't even leave the house! Now I can't even hold a cat? What exactly am I supposed to do?"

Every aspect of her life was under his iron grip. She had zero freedom. Tanya despised this life; the sheer hatred for it burned within her! She was desperate to tear herself away from this nightmare.

Faced with her hostile, defensive attitude, Darian felt a flare of irritation. He pulled out a cigarette, preparing to light it. However, his eyes caught sight of her stomach again, and he abruptly stopped.

"Go ahead and smoke," Tanya said with a chilling smile. "It's never going to be born anyway, so it doesn't matter what happens to it inside me."

"Tanya!" Darian's voice hardened, a sharp, imposing glint flashing in his eyes.

Tanya's smile widened mockingly. "Seeing you pretend to care about my pregnancy makes me physically sick."

Darian's breath hitched at the word 'sick'. He could hear the raw, unfiltered disgust in her voice.

She wasn't bluffing!

She genuinely loathed him. Just because of everything that had happened with Yulisa...

The word 'decent' simply didn't exist in their vocabulary.

Darian's breathing grew heavy. "My engagement to Yulisa isn't what you think it is."

Tanya simply stared at him, unblinking.

"Six months at most!" Darian promised, desperate to fill the silence. "In six months max, whatever is between her and me will be over."

"Darian, you two are getting married!"

It wasn't just a simple engagement. If it were only an engagement, maybe the situation wouldn't be so horrifyingly toxic. No, it was all toxic!

"Do you honestly think I don't know what everyone out there is saying about me right now?"
