A Widow's Poison, A Wife's Rebellion novel Chapter 1292

Right now, Starla definitely didn't want to see anyone.

Yardley's jaw clenched.

Hearing David's words, his expression grew completely lethal.

"Move!"

He spat out the word, his patience entirely depleted.

In an instant, the atmosphere at the elevator doors became explosive. David and Luce's faces hardened.

Both men were trusted veterans by Elmer Hoggart's side.

They answered only to him.

Their current stance made it obvious that Elmer had given the order. Since his father had declared he wouldn't see him tonight, then as long as David and Luce were standing there, Yardley wasn't getting anywhere near Starla or his father!

Seeing Yardley's unyielding attitude, David's expression grew even more solemn. "Mr. Hoggart, your father is already extremely disappointed."

He had watched this boy grow up.

He didn't want him to continue making decisions that broke his father's heart.

Yardley's eyes narrowed.

His face turned even darker.

"I said, move!"

He said it through gritted teeth, his hands balling into tight fists.

But the aura radiating from David and Luce turned equally chilling. Neither man showed any intention of stepping aside.

Yardley was livid!

He reached to his waist, drew his gun, and aimed it right at David's forehead!

The air instantly froze.

A cold light flashed in David's eyes, while Luce's gaze turned dangerously dark.

Neither of them flinched. They simply stared coldly back at Yardley.

David, in particular, looked almost disbelieving that Yardley had actually pulled a weapon on him.

Looking into the younger man's icy eyes, David's gaze now held a trace of endless disappointment.

"David, I must see Starla tonight," Yardley said, his voice dropping to a deadly register.
