A Widow's Poison, A Wife's Rebellion novel Chapter 1170

Rowena grew even more displeased by her defiant attitude. Every mother thought her son was the ultimate prize. Seeing Tanya so resolute about wanting to ditch Darian stung her pride. A surge of anger flared within her. It seemed like no matter what Tanya said or did, it rubbed Rowena the wrong way.

"Fine, you can leave. I'll arrange it for you."

"No need," Tanya rejected the offer instantly.

The thought of Rowena 'arranging' her departure sounded like a death sentence. Let this woman handle it? She wouldn't be sending her out of the city; she would be sending her straight to the grave. Tanya wasn't stupid. She knew full well that Rowena and Yulisa wanted her completely eliminated. Her immediate refusal made Rowena's face darken considerably.

"You don't want to go?"

"I do, but I'm not letting you set it up."

She had every intention of leaving. She genuinely wanted—and needed—to get as far away from Darian as possible.

"Starla helped you sneak out of Marina City last time. How do you plan on doing it now?"

Starla was dead. Tanya had virtually no one left in her corner. Rowena knew exactly how obsessed her son was with this woman. With him watching her like a hawk, slipping past him would be impossible.

"That's none of your concern," Tanya shot back.

Rowena sneered.

"You need to be gone before then. The wedding is in two weeks. You have ten days to get out."

The family had undeniably rushed the timeline on this one. Tanya was right; it did seem like a reckless gamble. But they had no other choice. The mere thought of Tanya's previous pregnancy still sent shivers down their spines.

"You better watch yourself during these next few days. A woman needs to look after her own body. Try not to end up pregnant again," Rowena sneered, her words steeped in utter humiliation.

It was a vile, demeaning attack. Tanya's jaw tightened. Hearing those vicious words, her gaze turned icy.

End up pregnant again? Honestly... that seemed to be exactly what Darian wanted, considering he hadn't been using any protection. The Lynn family really seemed to only operate on terrible, impulsive plans. Including Darian! He should have learned from last time that she wasn't the kind of woman who could be trapped by a baby. Yet he still wanted to try!
