Take Fairfax, for example. Back in Marina City, he had practically been out for Starla's blood, hadn't he? But even with all that venom, he never actually wanted her dead.
Before Darian could respond, Caden continued, "If Tanya is this terrified, it's definitely because your family has made her feel like she's in danger. You've seen firsthand how your family has been treating her lately."
The Lynn family's attitude toward Tanya was no secret. Yulisa and Rowena weren't even attempting to hide their hostility anymore. The moment Tanya returned, Yulisa went straight to confront her. Even though Darian had been perfectly clear with Yulisa, did it make any difference?
"I'll keep her safe," Darian insisted.
"Will you? Wouldn't Fairfax have said the exact same thing?"
Darian had no response.
"When Fairfax traded Starla to get Susanna back, he promised Starla the same thing, didn't he? That he would protect her!"
The silence stretched. The comparison made Darian feel like the oxygen had been sucked from the room.
Caden went on, "And that whole mess involved her own brother. Who could have ever predicted it would escalate like that?" That had been the last time Fairfax saw Starla. She had supposedly died right in front of him. He couldn't even protect her when she was right there in front of his eyes. So what made Darian think he could successfully shield Tanya from his own family's relentless venom? The hardest attacks to fend off were the ones you didn't see coming. Sometimes, being vigilant just wasn't enough.
Caden didn't say anything.
Speaking of Yulisa. Just a short while ago, her reputation had taken a massive hit, and Caden had assumed her chances of marrying into the Lynn family were dead in the water. But no one could have predicted that Tanya's return would send the Lynn family into a full-blown panic. In a desperate bid to sever any ties with Tanya, they were currently rushing to organize a wedding between him and Yulisa.
"Everyone in Marina City knows they're throwing this wedding together," Caden noted. The news had spread like wildfire in record time. It was obvious the family was absolutely determined to get him hitched as quickly as possible. As for why they circled back to Yulisa... It was simply because there were no other suitable candidates willing to step up on such short notice. Not after all the recent drama. What prominent family would eagerly offer up their daughter to him right now? None.
"Regardless, you need to keep a very close eye on Tanya. Things are incredibly dangerous for her right now." His family was dead set on his marriage to Yulisa. And Tanya was the biggest roadblock standing in their way. He either needed to provide ironclad protection for her, or he needed to send her far away.

"You're a failure as a husband and coward as a Man" This is what i want to say in Fairfax hahaha you dont deserved a wife if you cant protect her...
Hahaha This plot of story i hate about, choosing another girl instead of your own wife is something unreal, you didnt considered your wife feeling, you didnt even trust her and later on you will say sorry?? Was sorry will fixed everything you've done? Was sorry fixed her heart? it was unfair for your wife, you must choose your wife whatever it is. You know your wife well more than anyone else and the only person she should lean on was the person who pushes her away...
