She couldn't afford to leave a single trace. She was stuck with Darian now, and Darian was still tight with Fairfax. If he accidentally let something slip...
Honestly, she somewhat understood why Herbert wanted her gone. He was fiercely protective of Starla. Having successfully faked their deaths to escape Fairfax and the Hoggart family, the last thing Herbert needed was Tanya accidentally blowing their cover.
And since Darian had been hunting her relentlessly, he would have eventually tracked her to Smaro Town anyway.
The fact that Herbert hadn't simply put a bullet in her head was almost a miracle. Starla must have fought hard for her life.
...
Downstairs.
Rowena glared at the staircase, then shifted her furious gaze to her son. Darian stood before her, looking every bit the reckless rebelโa stark contrast to the perfect, obedient son he used to be.
In Rowena's eyes, her son had always been her pride and joy. But now? He was ruined.
And it was entirely Tanya's fault. That woman was a plague!
"What are you staring at?" Darian sneered. "Waiting for her to come down and pour you a cup of coffee to show her respect?"
Rowena's face flushed with anger. "Watch your tone! Is that how you speak to your mother?"
Every little change in him was because of that girl. He was never like this before!
"You wouldn't drink anything she offered you anyway," Darian retorted coldly. "So stop glaring at the stairs and stop complaining about her manners."
Even if Tanya bent over backward to be polite, Rowena would still treat her like dirt. Better they just stay out of each other's way entirely.
"They say a son forgets his mother the second he gets a wife. I never believed it until now."
She believed it wholeheartedly now.
"Whatever you think is going on between you two, we will never accept it. Your grandparents have already made the decision: you are marrying Yulisa."
The temperature in the room plummeted.
Darian let out a harsh, mocking laugh. "I thought the door on that little arrangement closed after her latest stunt."
Especially since Yulisa's reputation was currently in the gutter.
His grandparents had been vehemently opposed to the match until five minutes ago. But the moment Tanya returned, they suddenly did a complete 180!
"We watched Yulisa grow up. We know her character," Rowena argued defensively. "Your grandparents agree. Besides..."
She trailed off, her eyes darkening as she stared at her son. "After the public spectacle you made with Tanya, who else is going to marry you? What other respectable family would have you?"

"You're a failure as a husband and coward as a Man" This is what i want to say in Fairfax hahaha you dont deserved a wife if you cant protect her...
Hahaha This plot of story i hate about, choosing another girl instead of your own wife is something unreal, you didnt considered your wife feeling, you didnt even trust her and later on you will say sorry?? Was sorry will fixed everything you've done? Was sorry fixed her heart? it was unfair for your wife, you must choose your wife whatever it is. You know your wife well more than anyone else and the only person she should lean on was the person who pushes her away...
