A Widow's Poison, A Wife's Rebellion novel Chapter 1120

"What exactly did you say to Tanya back then?"

The bluntness of the question hit Yulisa like a physical blow.

She froze. "What?"

"Every time you talked to her, she'd spiral out of control. You know exactly what I'm asking."

Yulisa dropped the lunch container onto the desk and sank into the chair opposite him, wearing a look of deep offense. "Are you accusing me of driving a wedge between you two?"

"Am I wrong?"

Unlike Fairfax's blind spot with Brinley, Darian was cutting straight to the bone. He didn't have time for games.

Yulisa's face flushed with anger. "You're crossing a line, Darian. Do you honestly think I'm that kind of person?"

She tried to project her old, straightforward tomboy persona, relying on their years of trust.

Darian let out a harsh laugh. "Then enlighten me. What did you say to her?"

Yulisa went dead silent.

"Don't tell me you forgot. You barely saw her a handful of times!"

"Is this really how you see me?" she whispered, her voice trembling.

"Don't come around anymore," Darian ordered, lighting another cigarette. He was ruthless when cutting ties.

Yulisa stared at him, stunned. Panic flared in her chest. "Youโ€”"

"She hated it when I was around you. If word gets back to her that you're bringing me lunch every day, it's going to be a problem."

Even though he had no idea where Tanya was, he wasn't going to give her another reason to run.
