Thalia might have truly forgotten who Rupert Lysander was, but for Asher Blackwood, it was impossible to forget. 

Rupert and Thalia were in the same year at university. When Rupert was a first–year undergraduate, Asher was already in his first year of postgraduate studies. 

Logically, since Rupert was several years behind Asher and they attended different universities, they shouldn’t have had any connection.
