Chapter 1182: Chapter 1182 - Accel Synchro

Outside the speedway, Z-ONE floated silently in the void, peering through a thick metal casing at the unfolding duel below.

"So, Antinomy’s strategy was suppressed after all," Z-ONE muttered to himself.

Although Antinomy was strong enough to reach the threshold of a Duel King, he had only just barely crossed into that realm. Z-ONE could see this; compared to this Duel King from another world, Antinomy was still somewhat lacking.

But precisely because of that, this duel’s tempering was truly meaningful for Antinomy.

"After this battle, will you become even stronger, my old friend?" Z-ONE murmured.

That being said, this Duel King named Fujiki Kira already possessed such incredible might, yet claimed that he was far from the pinnacle. Could it be that there were even stronger duelists in his dimension? Another name suddenly flashed in Z-ONE’s mind.

A legendary Duel King whose name had long vanished from this dimension, but continued to echo in countless parallel universes.

"Could it be..." Z-ONE gazed at Kira, speculating, "Is Yugi Mutou still around in your world?"

Yes, Yugi Mutou—the legendary Duel King.

Though he was born in an era before the rules of Duel Monsters were perfected, most of his monsters were now outdated normal monsters, and his deck’s efficiency was considered low by modern standards, yet the legend of his title as Duel King has never been shaken.

Yugi Mutou’s strength lay in himself as a duelist, not merely his deck. A true champion is one who can instantly adapt to any era or environment. As the times change and the pace accelerates, he too adapts and keeps up, remaining the king of every new age.

At this moment, the duel continued.

"My turn! Draw!" announced Kira.

"Van’Dalgyon the Dark Dragon Lord—attack ’T.G. Rush Rhino’!"

Currently, Antinomy had equipped a Trap Card called "Metal Coat." Kira remembered from the anime that ’Metal Coat’ not only protected the equipped monster from effect destruction, but also, if it would be destroyed by battle, ’Metal Coat’ could be destroyed instead.

That made attacking Antinomy rather pointless now.

Antinomy: "You saw through Metal Coat’s second layer of defense, so you’re choosing Rhino as the primary target to break?"

He gazed ahead, eyes firm behind his red visor.

"But breaking through my formation won’t be so easy! I activate a Set Card: the Trap Card ’Sonic Stun’! It triggers when an opponent’s monster declares an attack, negating that attack. After that, I can Special Summon a ’Tech Genus’ Tuner or Level 4 or lower monster from my hand or Deck."

Antinomy’s Deck quickly auto-shuffled, ejecting a card for him to draw.

"I negate ’Van’Dalgyon’s’ attack, and Special Summon ’T.G. Cyber Magician’ from my Deck!"

The talon strike of Van’Dalgyon, crackling with black lightning, descended. Just before impact, a wave of sound burst forth from Delta Eagle—an audio barrier. The claw was deflected by this sonic shield, and a summoning vortex appeared in mid-air, out of which leaped a tiny magician.

A mere Level 1 magician; so small, its helmet looked almost comically large, its limbs bundled in armor, giving it an adorable appearance.

[T.G. Cyber Magician, ATK: 0]

Kira declared, "I’ll set a card and end my turn."

Glancing at Antinomy’s newly reinforced lineup, Kira smiled slightly.

"A Synchro, a Tuner, and a Non-Tuner—you’ve set this up with quite a layered defense, haven’t you?"

Antinomy’s heart skipped a beat.

Does this guy even know about Accel Synchro? Could his world also possess the concept?

"In that case, let me see it for myself," Kira said. "The new frontier ahead of Synchro Summoning!"

Antinomy calmed himself. "Very well, as you wish! My turn, draw!"

He spread his five fingers toward his field, commanding his Tech Genus monsters.
