Chapter 295 The Stolen Dance

“If Malory sees this, she’s going to be heartbroken.”

Ava stared at Tylissa’s face on the screen. It looked worse than ever.

Tylissa had built her reputation by taking other people’s work. She had used it to gain attention, fame, and status.

Meanwhile, Malory had poured her heart into that dance. She had choreographed it from scratch and waited for her chance to perform at the freshman gala. Instead, someone had released a Hookjaw Spider. It bit her foot, and she was still stuck in the hospital.

And now, the person who stole all her hard work stood under the spotlight, performing it like it was hers.

Applause echoed through the front of the hall.

Ava and Noelle stayed quiet for a moment. On the Stellar Network, the livestream count had shot up to a crazy number.

After a while, Noelle finally spoke. Her voice sounded tight. “Why would she even do this? She’s already at the top. Everyone looks up to her. She’s talented, and she’s famous across the entire interstellar scene.”

She let out a short, bitter laugh. “And yet she still stole Malory’s dance for this gala. No wonder Malory ended up like this. No wonder their club went on so early. It all makes sense now. She just wanted to make herself look better, so she pulled something like this to push someone else down. That’s seriously messed up.”

Noelle clenched her jaw and balled her hands into fists.

At that moment, Ava’s Holoband rang. It was a video call from Malory.

Ava let out a quiet sigh before answering. “Malory…”

Malory’s eyes were red. She tried to hold herself together as she looked at Ava. “Ava, I didn’t think this would happen to me today because of something like this. If she wanted it, she could’ve just asked! I would’ve given her the whole dance, every part of it! Why did she have to go this far?”

Her body shook with anger. “I kept wondering why everyone in the dance club had been ignoring me lately. They shut me out. I thought it was something I did wrong. I stressed over it for so long.”

Ava leaned forward slightly. “Malory, Noelle and I saw it clearly. She stole your work. She’s a thief”

Malory forced out a weak smile. It didn’t reach her eyes. “She performed it first, so now it’s ‘hers.‘ We don’t have any proof, I just have to take the loss.”

She paused, her voice tightening. “But I really can’t accept it. I know there’s a huge gap between her and me. Even if i try to fight it, what can i actually do?”

She wiped her face. “This stupid dance club… Once I get out of the hospital, I’m quitting.”

Not long after, Zoey came back backstage. Ava smiled at her. “You did great tonight. Your emotions came through, and your voice had real power. You could even try voice acting.”

Zoey beamed. She couldn’t stop smiling. “Really? Ava, am I actually that good? If you keep saying that, I’m going to start believing it.

Ava nodded. “I mean it.”

Noelle crossed her arms and added, “You were way better than during rehearsal. It’s just bad timing. Tylissa went before you, so she kind of overshadowed everything.”

At the mention of Tylissa, Zoey frowned. “Did you watch her performance? When I was waiting backstage, something felt off. Her dance looked really similar to Malory’s.”

Noelle let out a short scoff. “You noticed too? I’m starting to think Malory getting bitten by that spider might have something to do with her.”

Zoey’s brows furrowed. “Malory must be really upset. I just don’t get it. Why would she do something like this? Her dancing isn’t even bad. Why go this low?”

The three of them talked for a while longer. Then Ava headed to the restroom.

She stood at the sink, washing her hands, when the door opened behind her.
