Two Can Play (Celeste and Dominic) novel Chapter 53

Chapter 53

JULIAN

I could not believe my eyes.

Standing on that stage, under those lights, was my wife. My Celeste. Dressed like she was going to a whore’s ball instead of a charity gala. That red dress barely covered her breasts. The slit went all the way up to her thigh. Every man in that room was looking at her. I saw their eyes. I saw the way they devoured her with their gazes.

And she was smiling. She was lapping it up.

I tried to get to her. I pushed through the crowd, but those bodyguards blocked my path like I was nobody. Like I was just another face in the crowd. I was her husband. I had every right to be on that stage with her.

But she was gone before I could reach her. Disappeared like smoke.

I searched everywhere. I called her phone. Straight to voicemail. I sent messages. Where are you? Are you okay? Please call me. Nothing. I paid the hotel staff to look for her. I checked the security footage myself. The cameras showed her walking on stage. After that, nothing. Like she had vanished into thin air.

I went home. I waited. She was not there.

Seraphine kept calling me. Over and over. I ignored each call. That cheap whore could wait. I had bigger problems. My wife was missing. My wife was out there somewhere in that indecent dress, and I had no idea where she was.

I sat in the living room until almost one in the morning. The house was empty. Silent. I kept replaying the image of her on that stage. The way the red fabric clung to her curves. The way her hips swayed when she walked. The way every man in that room

wanted her.

How dare she dress like that? How dare she leave the house looking like a common slut? I was her husband. I deserved respect. I deserved a wife who knew her place. Not a woman who paraded herself in front of other men like she was available.

I was so angry I could not stay in that house anymore. I drove to a hotel. I ordered three women to come to my room.

They arrived within the hour. Young. Pretty. Eager. They took off their clothes. They offered themselves to me. They asked what I wanted.

I looked at them and saw nothing.

I kept thinking about Celeste. About the way she kissed me goodbye. About the red dress. About where she was. About who she

was with.

I could not touch them. I could not even look at them. I paid them and told them to leave. They looked confused. I did not care. I just wanted to be alone.

I went back home in the morning. I told myself I would ignore Celeste. I would teach her a lesson. I would make her feel the same worry she had put me through.
