Chapter 286
She actually believed I was going to let her and her friends go after this.
What a fool.
Who in their right mind would release that kind of variety into the wild? Fresh meat like that? All those eager bodies, all those willing mouths, all that desperate gratitude, and she thought I would simply open the door and wave goodbye? I still had her brother in custody, locked away where no one would find him, and that meant none of them were going anywhere. Not until I had fucked my money’s worth out of every single one of them and enjoyed them for a few more years before finally, mercifully, letting them go.
“For the hundredth time,” I said, settling onto the arm of the couch and watching her work, “let me walk you through tonight.”
She put down the brush and gave me her full attention, and I went through it all again. The hotel. The story? The way she was to approach him, the way she was to touch him, the way she was to make him believe he was the one in control. Every detail, every contingency, every line of the script I had written for her. When I finished, she simply nodded and picked up her brush again, and there was something in her calm that almost unsettled me.
Hours later, she emerged from the bedroom dressed and ready, and I forgot how to breathe for a moment. The woman standing before me was not the same woman who had been painting her face an hour ago. She was something else entirely, a vision poured into a dress that left nothing to the imagination, her red hair falling in waves over her shoulders, her lips glossed and parted, her eyes lined and smoky and full of promises I could feel in my groin. One look at her and I was hard as a rock, my cock straining against my trousers like it had a mind of its own.
I crossed the room with every intention of stealing a kiss, maybe more, maybe a quick little appetizer before the main course, but she put a hand on my chest and stopped me cold.
“No, Julian. It took me hours to get ready. If you touch me now, it will ruin everything, and I have to walk into that hotel in thirty minutes looking flawless.”
I cursed under my breath and stepped back, my jaw tight, my desire simmering in my veins like hot oil. She was right, and I hated that she was right, and I hated even more that the sight of her walking toward the door with that dress clinging to every curve made me want to throw the whole plan out the window.
I drove her to the hotel in silence, my hands gripping the wheel, my eyes fixed on the road ahead, and when she reached for the door handle, I caught her wrist.
“Do not make any mistakes tonight, Scarlett. Mistakes will not be tolerated. Do you understand me?”
