Chapter 21 

One day, Melanie had in nnished preparing for Rising Star’s Spring Auction. 

When Melanie returned to the Harbour Villa, she saw a row of luxury cars parked at the gate from a distance with many men in black standing on both sides. 

After entering the door, Melanie saw Roderick sitting on the sofa in the hall as expected. 

Elias were nestling in Roderick’s arms and eating candy with Gary and Luke standing aside. 

“Mommy!” 

Elias rushed over as soon as he saw Melanie. 

“Mommy, I miss you so much. It has been three days. Why didn’t you come to see me?” 

Although Melanie was a little angry with Elias, she was still happy to see him. 

I’m really busy. Or you can stay here and I can see you when I get off work.” 

Elias became excited. 

“Great, great! Daddy will stay here, too!” 

Melanie refused Elias firmly. 

“No, your daddy has his own home. He can’t stay with us.” 

“Why? Daddy can live with Mommy,” Elias chewed the candy and said seriously.

Melanie stood upstairs and looked at those strong men in black, feeling worried.

After playing with Elias for a while and putting him to sleep at night, Melanie went to the studio as usual. 

She stared blankly at an unfinished painting on the easel. 

Melanie had been blind almost every other day for the first two years since her accident seven years ago. 

But even so, her painting skills still had improved a lot. 

As soon as Melanie picked up the brush, Angie came in with milk. 

“Melanie, you’ve spent too much time on drawing these days.” 

“Yeah.” 

“Yeah?” 

Angie took away the brush from Melanie and put the milk on her hand. 

“Drink it and then go to bed. Do you really wanna be blind?” 

Melanie smiled and said, “How can you be so rude, dear Ms. Thomas?” 

“So what? I’m no match for you. Each of your paintings can cost millions of dollars.” 

“I’m a poor guy. I just sell my painting to pay for food and clothing.” 

Melanie laughed, looking rarely cute and lovely. 

“Stop joking.” Angie took the opportunity to hug Melanie and acted cute, “Melanie, I want to sleep with you tonight.” 

Melanie pinched Angie’s nose and said, “You are more clingy than Elias!” 

The next morning, Melanie got up early and was stunned by what she saw as soon as she got out her room. 

A deluxe breakfast was set on the table.

Elias was sitting at the dining table and eating breakfast obediently. 

Just when Melanie was about to ask what happened, Roderick came out of the kitchen with soup. 

“Mela, come to have breakfast. I brought it from home in the morning.”

“What are you doing here? And don’t call me Mela. We’re not that close!” 

Melanie went back to the bedroom with a blushing face.

When Melanie got dressed up and went out, Roderick stopped her again. 

“What do you want? Just spit it out!” 

Roderick paused for a moment.. 

“Let’s have a talk sometime.” 

Melanie’s expression showed that she had nothing to talk about with Roderick. 

“I’ve already allowed your family to take care of Elias. What else do

want?” 

Roderick stared at Melanie with strange feelings in his eyes. 

“I will wait for you downstairs Rising Star at six o’clock tonight. 

“If you don’t come, all the people in Beloris will know that you are my wife tomorrow.” 

After saying that, Roderick picked up Elias and directly left. 

“You bastard!” 

Melanie was furious. 

“What’s so good about the Lambert family? Not everyone wants to marry you!”
