Dave pov
a light tap landed against my shoulder.
I turned immediately.
And froze slightly.
An older woman stood there elegantly dressed in cream and gold with dark glasses resting lightly against her face.
Sixties maybe.
Possibly older.
But there was something sharp about her presence.
Composed.
Powerful.
And strangely familiar.
Not her face exactly.
Her eyes.
I stood immediately.
“Oh—I…”
She tilted her head slightly.
“You’re not going to offer an old woman a seat?”
Right.
Wonderful start, Dave.
I cleared my throat quickly.
“Sorry. Please.”
She sat gracefully beside me before removing her glasses slowly.
And immediately I understood why she looked familiar.
I had seen those eyes before.
Not directly.
But in photographs.
My brows pulled together slightly.
“I know you.”
A stnall smile touched her lips.
