Chapter 54 Looking for Brianna

Chapter 54 Looking for Brianna

When Brandon rushed back to the ski resort, Tristan was already running out with Kendra in his arms. Upon seeing Brandon, Tristan handed Kendra over to him.

“What happened?” Brandon’s face was etched with worry.

“I don’t know. She was skiing and suddenly tripped. She wasn’t wearing a helmet, so she banged her head,” Tristan replied.

Brandon, cradling Kendra in his arms, hurried toward the resort lobby.

“Quick, call an ambulance,” he barked.

As he saw blood trickling down Kendra’s forehead, his heart ached for her.

He felt the anxiety swell inside him.

It was as if things were spiraling out of his control.

While waiting for the ambulance, the resort’s medical team rushed over to provide emergency care.

Brandon handed Kendra to the doctor.

Brandon scanned the area, his impatience obvious as he asked, “Where’s Brianna?”

He took the towel his assistant handed him and gently pressed it to Kendra’s forehead.

By then, everyone else had already hurried over.

Only when he asked that did everyone realize Brianna was missing.

Tristan pulled out his phone and tried calling Brianna.

Her line was busy. Panic flickered in his eyes.

“I can’t get through. Where could she have gone?” Tristan blurted out.

Everyone glanced at each other, unsure what to do.

Brandon shot a look at his assistant. “Check if she’s in the room.”

The assistant bolted for their villa, not wasting a second.

Patsy suddenly had a bad feeling.

She called out, her voice shrill with anxiety, “Where’s Darcy?”

Tristan cursed under his breath. “Darcy’s missing too.”

As they were talking, Darcy walked in gracefully from the entrance.

Darcy looked worried, her face tense with concern.

Patsy grabbed her arm and asked, “Where did you go? Where were you just now?”

Patsy noticed a spark in Darcy’s eyes. Even though Darcy looked worried, she couldn’t hide the thrill shining in

her gaze.

Patsy knew it.

This definitely had something to do with Brianna.

“I just went to the bathroom,” Darcy replied.

Patsy watched her closely, making sure not to let it show.

Just then, the assistant came running back.

“Mr. Levy, Mrs. Levy isn’t in the room,” the assistant said.

“Don’t worry, maybe she just went for a walk,” Clifford tried to reassure Brandon.

Brandon’s brows knitted together.

“Go ask around. See if anyone’s seen her,” he ordered.

Clifford and Tristan followed the assistant out.

‘It’s been less than half an hour since Brianna left the ski resort. How could she vanish without a trace?’ Brandon wondered.

While they were talking, the doctor had already finished bandaging Kendra’s wound.

Kendra slowly opened her eyes.

A sharp pain shot through her forehead and leg.

Kendra started bawling her eyes out.

Brandon cradled Kendra in his arms.

He soothed her softly, trying to calm her down, “It’s alright, sweetheart. Daddy’s right here. Don’t cry, honey, or you’ll bleed more.”

The moment Kendra heard that she was bleeding, she was so scared that she wailed at the top of her lungs.

Darcy moved closer.

“Kendra, it’s alright,” Darcy tried to comfort her.

But the instant Darcy’s hand brushed against Kendra, Kendra shrank into Brandon’s arms in fear.

She shot Darcy a wary, guarded look.

Brandon didn’t notice anything wrong with Kendra.

He just held her close, gently soothing her.

He thought it was just her losing control of her emotions after getting hurt.

Patsy was watching everything unfold, taking in every detail.

She shot Darcy a wary look, her eyes narrowed in suspicion.

Panic grew in Patsy.

‘Darcy’s definitely up to something,’ she thought.

But with Brianna still missing, Patsy had to play it cool and not raise any alarms.

Just then, the ambulance arrived.

Brandon, usually so composed, was visibly rattled for once.

Brandon hurriedly carried Kendra into the ambulance.

All the while, his eyes darted around, restless and uneasy.

Not spotting Brianna anywhere, he remained worried.

The assistant and Tristan had been out searching for a while now.

Still, no one had returned.

Clearly, there was still no news.

Brandon turned to Margo, desperate for help.

“Margo, I can’t stop worrying,” he said. “You take Kendra to the hospital first, okay? As soon as we find Brianna, we’ll head right over.”

Before Margo could respond, Darcy considerately stepped forward.

“Brandon, let me go instead,” Darcy said. “You go find Brianna.”

Kendra heard Darcy’s voice and instantly resisted fiercely, “No, no! I want Daddy and Mommy.”

Margo wavered for a moment.

She didn’t feel much attachment to Kendra. But blood was thicker than water, and Kendra was still her niece.

Chapter 54 Looking for Brianna

At the thought that Brandon was still with Darcy, Patsy snapped back, barely able to hide her anger, “She fell off a cliff. What do you think?”

Brandon’s legs buckled beneath him as the news hit him like a ton of bricks.

Darcy felt a jolt of dread.

‘How did they manage to find Brianna so quickly?’ Darcy wondered.

Still, she maintained her thoughtful facade.

She feigned panic and said, “Brandon, I’m sure Brianna will be alright.”

As she spoke, Darcy gently pulled Brandon’s hand into hers.

She intertwined their fingers, holding tight as she tried to comfort him.

Brandon jerked his hand away on instinct.

He pushed himself up, his face drained of all color, and rushed toward the edge of the cliff.

By the time Brandon arrived, Tristan was nearly at the bottom.

Brandon spotted the figure at the base of the cliff and felt like his heart was being ripped apart.

He was about to make a run for the base of the cliff when Patsy yanked him back.

“Tristan and the rescue team are already handling it,” Patsy said. “You don’t need to go down there. Call in your contacts. Make sure the best doctors are standing by. I’ve already called 911.”

Brandon was in total disarray, panic clouding his thoughts.

Hearing Patsy’s instructions, he numbly reached for his phone.

He told his assistant to make sure the best doctors were standing by.

He was shaking badly.

For the first time in his life, Brandon found himself praying to a god he never believed in.

‘God, please, don’t let it be her, Brandon begged silently. ‘As long as she’s alright, I swear, I’ll devote my whole life to you.’
