Chapter 124
That night was pure torture.
:.
Brianna had thought about dying, ending it all in one go, freeing herself from everything.

She also considered running away, maybe moving to a tiny country in Aurorian where nobody knew her or what she’d been through. She could just forget it all and start fresh.
All night long, she felt like she was trapped in an ice cave, shivering uncontrollably.
It wasn’t until dawn, when sunlight finally filled the room, that she realized running away was shameful. Backing down would only make her enemies even more arrogant. She had to strike back with everything she had.
As soon as those photos hit the internet, Brandon had them taken down in no time. Even if he hadn’t, the cyber police would’ve stepped in anyway.
But even half an hour was more than enough for netizens to get their fill of the drama.
Brianna held her phone, checking out what people were saying online.
The comments online split into two camps. Most people could tell something was off about the photos and thought it was both immoral and illegal to expose a woman’s nude pictures.
But there was a small group of people with dirty minds, who couldn’t get enough of snooping into someone else’s privacy and were all too happy to gawk at the naked photos.
Brandon stayed with Brianna all night, and for him, it was just as torturous. He realized he had enabled their cruelty, letting that family get away with everything.
He wanted to make it up to her, but she kept him at a distance, acting like he was a stranger.
Back then, he was convinced Benedict was behind the kidnapping. So when Darcy threatened Brianna with those nude photos, he never doubted Darcy for a second. He just thought Benedict was behind the leak.
His own bias had fueled Darcy’s audacity.
Brianna got up, her body so delicate it seemed a breeze could knock her over, but her posture radiated determination.
“Brianna, let me take care of this. Just stay home and rest,” Brandon said, his heart aching as he saw the emptiness in her gaze.
“You? You handled these photos before, remember?” Brianna’s eyes were icy, completely devoid of warmth.
Brandon was left speechless.
She walked into the bathroom, gave her face a quick wash, skipped the makeup, and came out to slip into a cream–colored suit.

“Where are you going?” Brandon caught her hand and gently pulled her into his arms, as if she might slip away forever.
“Go deal with it.” She remained as listless as ever, gently pushing him away.
“Let me come with you, please?” Brandon pleaded.
‘Once trust is shattered, there’s no putting it back together. Brianna thought.
“Don’t bother,” she said, shaking her head and turning away without another glance.
She hadn’t slept a single minute all night and was too rattled to drive herself, so she had James take her straight to the police station. She handed over the photos, filed a report, got the official receipt, and immediately called her lawyer.
Once the lawyer’s letter was drafted, she had it sent out without delay.
That afternoon, she recorded a video, facing the camera head–on. She spoke candidly about how those photos came to exist, how she’d been kidnapped in Zaivine, drugged, and never even knew someone was taking nude pictures of her. She urged everyone online to respect women and to delete her photos for good.
After wrapping that up, she contacted the paparazzi and dropped bombshell photos of Darcy smoking and drinking while pregnant overseas, then released side–by–side shots comparing the baby’s real father, Vino, with Brandon.
Vino was totally unfazed. If anything, he seemed to welcome it. Getting a celebrity pregnant and riding the wave of gossip might just earn him his own fifteen minutes of fame.
As soon as the paparazzi dropped the news, social media blew up.
Darcy’s sweet, innocent persona was shattered, and everyone was freaking out over how much the baby’s real father looked like Brandon. They wondered if this was some elaborate scheme, or just a wild coincidence. The gossip crowd was spinning all kinds of crazy theories.
Just when the gossip was at its peak, Clair had Dexter Gems post an official statement.
It said Darcy wasn’t even on the guest list for that dinner. The brand was sorry about her miscarriage and said they’d take responsibility.
That just set the internet ablaze all over again. People were losing their minds, asking, “What do you mean she wasn’t even invited? Did she just crash the party?”
With the gossip media swarming and the brand throwing shade, Darcy was trending again in no time.
People who used to feel sorry for her miscarriage started changing their tune. With the trolls stirring the pot, they jumped on the bandwagon and started cyberbullying Darcy.
Netizens started connecting the dots and piecing together their own version of the story.
They speculated that Darcy had a thing for Brandon, tried to trap him with a baby to force her way into the family, and when that didn’t work, she set up her sister, lying that Brianna pushed her down the stairs.

Some even guessed that Darcy might’ve been behind the whole kidnapping and nude photo scandal with Brianna in the first place.
Netizens were absolute geniuses at sleuthing, quickly piecing together what really happened.
Before long, opportunists started riding the wave, constantly exposing new scandals about Darcy.
Rumors flew about her bullying staff, scheming to steal opportunities from coworkers, and having a chaotic personal life.
Brianna watched the online chaos explode, then picked up her phone and called Darcy‘ agent.
The private investigator had already uncovered that Darcy and her agent had some serious beef over her pregnancy.
Darcy was used to acting high and mighty, and nobody knew her true colors better than her agent. Brianna was convinced the agent had some real dirt on her.
After half an hour of back–and–forth, Darcy’s agent weighed the risks, realized there was no saving Darcy now, and finally agreed to turn over the evidence to Brianna.
Even though Brianna already knew Darcy was rotten to the core, when she finally saw all those videos and photos, she was still stunned by just how evil Darcy could be.
Slapping waiters and beating up staff was nothing for her.
Back in middle school, she bullied a classmate so badly that the kid lost sight in their right eye. In college, she slept her way into roles. After her debut, she started dabbling in black magic, raising evil spirits, and for years, she’d been smuggling “youth–preserving injections” injections from northern Myronia, loaded with placenta extract and illegal phenolphthalein.
But the most damning thing was what the agent sent last. It was the hard evidence that Darcy had hired people to kidnap Brianna.
Brianna scrolled through the evidence, a cold smirk on her lips. ‘Letting her get away with this would be unforgivable.‘
Brianna kept the kidnapping evidence to herself, but handed all the other dirt to the entertainment gossip
reporters.
Dropping this bombshell sent shockwaves across the internet. Darcy’s scandals were so outrageous. She shot to the top of every trending list, becoming the nation’s villain overnight.
The police and customs were all hands on deck, dropping official statements that they were jumping into the investigation.
One after another, classmates Darcy had bullied in the past started stepping forward, publicly exposing her
crimes.
Netizens‘ hate for Darcy snowballed from boycotting her and demanding she quit the industry in the afternoon, to by nightfall, the internet wanted her punished hard, some even wishing she’d just disappear for

But this wasn’t the end. She was hell–bent on putting Darcy behind bars, and making sure the Meyers family never recovered.
Now that things had reached this point, she was almost itching to see the Meyers family’s faces when it all came crashing down.
Brianna grabbed a cab and headed straight for her villa on the south side of town. When she pulled up, there was a whole crowd packed in front of the Meyers family’s gate.
Even before she got close, she could hear Jane wailing like the world was ending, while Blanca screamed and cursed like crazy.
Brianna walked up just in time to see law enforcement slapping seals on the Meyers family’s house and cars.
Jane marched up, ready to rip off the seal.
The officer grabbed her, his tone stern. “Once the seal is in place, it’s legally binding. If you dare to rip it off, we’ll take you in immediately.”
“Go ahead, arrest me! I’ve lost my home. Why should I care if you lock me up?” Jane shouted, then lunged at the officer.
Seeing she was elderly, the officer dodged her nimbly, made his way down the stairs, and hurried off.
‘Looks like the Meyers family’s place just got sealed off by the authorities.’ Brianna thought.
But things were far from over. No sooner had the officers left than a group of young men with sleeve tattoos muscled in, closing in around the gate.
“Hey, old lady, you better pay back what you owe our company, or else we won’t be so nice about it.”
Whitney slumped on the steps, looking like a beaten–down rooster, his face ashen and motionless.
“Pay you back? You’re loan sharks! Why should I pay you a single cent?” Blanca’s hair was a tangled mess, her eyes bloodshot, and her face was crazed and slack, like she’d totally lost it.
“Well, look at this filthy bitch trying to skip out on her debt,” the tattooed leader shot Blanca a cocky smirk. “Don’t you know? Nobody gets away with stiffing our company.”
With that, the tattooed guy grabbed Blanca by the collar, jerking her so rough she nearly toppled over, her hands scrambling but it was pointless.
“Did you forget we’re loan sharks when you borrowed the cash? Now you’re broke and suddenly it matters?” He swung his arm and smacked her across the face, twice, loud and clear.
Blanca stumbled back, almost hitting the ground, but Darcy grabbed her before she could fall.

After getting slapped by that thug, Blanca completely lost her shit and went full crazy mode.“I’ve already filed for bankruptcy! Do whatever you want. I’ve got no money left, all I’ve got is my life. If you wanna kill me, go ahead and do it!”
The tattooed punk swaggered over with a nasty grin.
“Why would I dirty my hands killing you?” he sneered, his hand sliding up to Darcy’s pretty face, eyes glinting with filthy intent. “If you really can’t pay up, just hand your daughter over to our boss. Maybe he’ll be so happy. He’ll cut you some slack on the debt.”
Then, he flashed a wicked grin at the group of youths behind him.
The whole gang burst out in lewd laughter, their eyes full of filthy intent.
“Yeah, that’s right! The boss has never had a shot with a celebrity before.”
“Who knows, if the boss is in a good mood, maybe he’ll let all of us have a taste. We might even knock a bit off your debt. How about it, mother–in–law?” the punk mocked, leering at both Blanca and Darcy.
Whitney, seething with rage, stood in front of Blanca and Darcy, gripping his cane tightly as if to shield them.
“You dare? Go ahead, try touching them again! My son–in–law is the big boss at Levy Group. He’s loaded. If you cross the line one more time, he’ll make sure you regret it.”
The tattooed leader snatched the cane right out of his hand. “Everyone knows your son–in–law is Brandon Levy, right? You think nobody dared mess with you all this time, but now we’re here because your golden boy isn’t covering your ass anymore.”
He grabbed Whitney by the collar and jerked him forward. “After you plastered his wife’s nudes all over the internet, you really think he’s coming to save you?”
With that, he spat right in Whitney‘ face. “We’ve seen all the wild drama about your family online. You old bastard, you even messed up your own daughter’s life. Are you even human?”
Whitney was so humiliated that his face turned beet red, his finger trembling as he stammered, “You… you…” but he just couldn’t get the words out.
Seeing the old man looking shaken, the tattooed punk let him go and cursed under his breath. “Figure out a way to pay up, or I’ll ship this little starlet straight to the black market in Myronia. See how long she lasts there.”
Darcy and Blanca helped Whitney slump down onto the steps, both of them sobbing and desperately trying to soothe him.
“Dad, what are we supposed to do now?” Darcy wailed, her voice cracking with desperation.
Whitney‘ face went dark red, like he was about to burst. He tried to say something, but his tongue felt swollen. No matter how hard he tried, not a single word came out.
Suddenly, he caught sight of Brianna standing not far away. His eyes burned with resentment, but there was also a desperate glimmer of hope.

Brianna walked over, and the way Blanca and Darcy looked at her was as if their hatred was practically dripping from their eyes.
Brianna stood over Whitney, who was slumped helplessly on the ground.
“What’s the matter? Can’t take it anymore?” she said with a cold smirk. “Don’t tell me you didn’t know Darcy hired people to kidnap me. I’m here to let you know. I’ve got the proof. Your beloved daughter’s going to rot in prison for the rest of her life.”
With that, she gave the whole family one last look of utter disdain before turning on her heel and walking
away.
Behind her, a loud thud echoed, and Darcy started screaming at the top of her lungs.
