A flash of disappointment flickered in Chester's eyes. He had come to celebrate the opening with just a generous envelope of cash. Why hadn't he thought to bring extravagant gifts and put on a grand display like this?!
Jamie's relationship with Suzie was definitely not simple anymore.
Actually, he had suspected as much ever since that charity dinner, but he had assumed they were just dealing with their past and had completely cut ties. Yet looking at this spectacle today...
Jamie responded with a light smile, "Chester. Just like you, I'm here to celebrate the opening of Ms. Sterling's studio."
Chester squeezed out a smile, trying his best not to make it look stiff.

Her makeup was clean and natural, letting her flawless, luminous skin shine with a radiant glow. The color on her lips was light but alluring.
Standing a few steps away from him, she looked like a classic beauty walking straight out of a vintage portrait, utterly captivating.
Seeing that Suzie was ignoring him, Jamie slowly rose from his chair and walked toward her.
Stopping just inches away, he looked her up and down with soft eyes. His magnetic voice rang out again. "Suzie, aren't you going to invite me to dinner?"
"There isn't a seat for you. Please leave. I'm locking up," Suzie rejected him coldly, moving to grab her handbag from the cabinet. She quickly added, "If you won't move this stuff, I'll have someone deliver it straight back to the Baylor Group headquarters later."
Just as her sentence ended, Jamie grabbed her hand. He pulled her gently but firmly toward the object covered by the red silk cloth:
