The Years Between Signing and Seeing novel Chapter 504

After Stella finished her presentation, she couldn't detect any change in Jamie's expression, but the three men on the sofa began whispering to each other, nodding occasionally.

Then, Jamie spoke up. "What do you think of her assessment?"

The three men analyzed Stella's points and unanimously praised her for her high-level, meticulous perspective.

In short, they looked at her with genuine admiration, their compliments overflowing.

Stella knew perfectly well that they weren't just flattering her; this was a fair evaluation.

She couldn't guarantee everything, but when it came to her professional competence, she was extremely confident.

Stella gave a modest nod and stayed quiet.

Soon, Jamie dismissed the three men, leaving the two of them alone in the office once again.

"Sit down."

He walked slowly over to the sofa and gestured for Stella to take the seat on the side.

Stella sat down somewhat awkwardly, keeping her head slightly bowed as she waited for him to speak.

Jamie took a slow sip of his coffee and said coolly, "The position of General Manager at DC Entertainment is currently vacant. Are you interested?"

Stella was stunned.

What was this move? She was the one who had come to repay a favor, so why was Jamie suddenly offering her a job? And a General Manager position, right off the bat?

She had slaved away at Bravo Ads Agency for years just to become a department manager.

But based on her understanding of Jamie, this move was far from simple. Talent was everywhere. She wasn't the only one capable of the job, so singling her out was incredibly suspicious.

Even though she was salivating over this massive career opportunity, the thought that it might entangle Suzie was enough to make her reject it.

She was impatient by nature. From the moment she stepped into his office, all she wanted was a quick resolution.

Leave her life savings, bow, sincerely say thank you, and get out.

If he needed her to sign over the property or the car, she would do it immediately, and then slowly pay off the rest when she had money.

Although it sounded a bit blunt for a "thank you," she wasn't good at beating around the bush...

Plus, with her personality, trying to play mind games with Jamie Baylor was a losing battle—ten of her couldn't outsmart one of him.

Throughout this entire conversation, Stella had felt intensely constrained and uncomfortable.

It was much better to lay all her cards on the table. It would save her from being manipulated down the line and having sleepless nights.

With that thought, Stella let out a long breath and spoke rapidly. "Mr. Baylor, I'm impatient, please don't take offense. You saved my life, and you're practically my second creator. I will do everything in my power to repay this debt, but this is strictly between you and me..."
