Stella let out a cold laugh.
"You just don't know that woman. She's a walking time bomb for Suzie. I say we don't just sue—we execute her publicly on the internet. Ruin her for good. That's the safest play."
Mia, who had been completely silent, suddenly got a text from her family. It was urgent. She quickly texted back, but right as she went to lock her screen, a news alert flashed at the top of her phone.
When Mia saw the words "Chaim Cosmetic Clinic" in the headline, she let out a loud gasp.
"Guys, look at this!"
Mia tapped the notification and dropped her phone onto the table. Everyone immediately crowded around.
Struggling to read the small text, Suzie quickly pulled out her own phone and searched the headlines.
Number one trending topic: [Chaim Cosmetic Clinic Implicated in Illegal Transactions; Legal Rep Jumps to Death Due to Stress]
The opening paragraph gave a brief summary, basically repeating the headline without specifying what the illegal transactions actually were.
It then went into the clinic's powerful background and history.
But at the very bottom of the article, they leaked several of the clinic's off-the-books surgeries.
Suzie froze. There were five sets of photos. Each set showed a dramatic before-and-after comparison, essentially documenting total face swaps.
And one of those sets belonged to Suzanne Baird.
The article ended with a cryptic note stating that this was merely the tip of the iceberg, and emphasized that this wasn't even the primary reason the executive had jumped.
That was it.
The four of them pulled back from the screen, exchanging stunned looks.
Suzie slowly sank onto the sofa, staring into space.
Stella broke the silence. "Send me Suzanne's files right now. If we blast this all over the internet right now, it's the absolute perfect timing..."
Oliver immediately cut her off. He looked directly at Suzie.
"Suzie, your chance to totally screw over Jamie Baylor has arrived."
Suzie slowly lifted her head, looking at Oliver. She frowned slightly.
"We haven't tracked down the publisher yet. Initial sweeps show they used foreign servers, and there's no media outlet attached."
Jamie casually scanned the screen.
"Right. Have you found Suzanne Baird yet?"
Instead of answering immediately, Aaron asked incredulously.
"Sir, do you not care about what's in the article?"
This was a brutal hit piece. While the last three trending topics from the banquet had caused a stir, this one was an entirely different beast.
It basically painted Jamie as a desperate pervert who would hit on anything that breathed.
It claimed he had stalked a plastic surgery patient at the banquet, groped her, ripped her dress, and dragged her into a hotel room... noting that when the woman finally emerged, she was wearing a completely different outfit.
It even detailed how other women had shamelessly thrown themselves at him, describing the entire event in the most vile, degrading way possible.
Essentially, whoever wrote the post had hijacked the leaked Chaim Cosmetic Clinic photos and the previous banquet rumors to brand Jamie Baylor as an absolute sleazebag.
