The Years Between Signing and Seeing novel Chapter 450

Stewart shoved the piece of paper into his pocket, complained a bit more about how miserable his life was right now, and then reluctantly walked away.

Suzie turned around to leave, only to spot Jamie sitting on a bench a few yards away.

She had spent so much time dealing with Stewart that she had completely forgotten Jamie was still there.

She ignored him, walking briskly down the path toward the archway.

Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed Jamie stand up and follow her again.

Hadn't she made herself perfectly clear in the stairwell?

When did his personality do a complete 180?

If someone had told her any other guy was acting like a desperate stalker, she wouldn't have batted an eye. But Jamie Baylor? He was the last person on earth to act like a clingy ex.

He was arrogant, aloof, and completely dismissive of everyone beneath him!

Suzie shot him one last irritated side-eye before jogging ahead to reunite with her kids.

....................

No matter how many times Suzie told him to get lost, Jamie didn't leave.

He stayed until all the medical reports came back. The doctor confirmed it was just nasal inflammation irritating the mucus membranes, which caused the nosebleed.

Only then did the group finally split up.

"Kill the trending news online. It's upsetting her. Also, figure out a way to integrate the Silvermoon Villa into the current project and find an excuse to give it to them. That apartment of hers has too much foot traffic; it's a security risk for the kids."

Aaron nodded. "Got it. I'm sure the kids will love the estate. And since the Sugar Buddies project is completely under Ms. Sterling's control now, pushing it through should be easy."

Jamie hummed in agreement. "Using Alice Quinn was a brilliant move. Once the deed for the estate is transferred and we find her real family... you can name your price, Aaron. Whatever you want, it's yours."

Aaron immediately put on a solemn, deferential face. "Boss, please, you're embarrassing me. The salary and bonuses you give me are already more than generous, and I don't really spend much..."

Aaron rambled off a long list of grateful platitudes until his conscience felt clear.

Jamie was notoriously generous. No smart employee would get greedy and demand an outrageous reward just for doing their job. That wasn't Aaron's style, and he certainly wasn't about to push his luck.
