The Wife He Forgot to Marry (Winona and Yule) novel Chapter 576

Tallulah was gasping for air, her chest heaving as tears streamed down her hollow cheeks. "If Winona is so goddamn perfect, why did you marry me?! You just wanted me to be your personal incubator so you could have a son! You are a selfish, narcissistic coward, Yulen! If I'm broken, it's because you broke me!"

Yulen's face turned to stone as he listened to her scream.

When she finally ran out of breath, he let out a cold, humorless laugh.

"Stop acting like you're some tragic victim, Tallulah. Did I put a gun to your head and force you to marry me? Did I force you to get pregnant? You live in a multi-million-dollar estate. You have maids to clean for you, nannies to raise your kid, and I give you a hundred and fifty grand a month just in spending money. Do you have any idea how many women would kill for your life?"

He leaned closer, his voice dropping to a vicious whisper. "You caused all your own problems. You couldn't just sit back and live a quiet life, could you? You had to play games, and now your baby is dead. If you hate this life so much, then let's just get a divorce."

He turned on his heel and walked out, slamming the door behind him.

Tallulah collapsed back against the pillows, sobbing uncontrollably. It was always like this. Every single time they fought, he only ever saw his side of the argument. He never once cared about how she felt.

The door crept open, and the nurse tentatively peeked her head in. "Ma'am, you really shouldn't throw tantrums like that," she offered, her tone dripping with fake sympathy. "You rely on him to fund your lifestyle. A hundred and fifty grand a month? Most people don't see that in a decade. If you go around losing his babies and screaming at him, obviously he's going to be pissed. You need to swallow your pride and apologize next time he comes around."

Tallulah was already hyperventilating, and the nurse's condescending advice pushed her entirely over the edge.

"Who the hell asked you?!" she shrieked. "Get the hell out of my room!"

The nurse rolled her eyes. "Fine, I'll wait outside. But just so we're clear, I'm still billing you for these hours. It's not my fault you refuse to be helped."

Tallulah was shaking so hard she couldn't breathe, the fresh stitches in her stomach burning like they were on fire.

That evening, Hayes called Winona just as she was leaving the lab.

"Winona, Mr. Locke's legal team just reached out. They are dropping all charges against you."

Winona scoffed. "He's dropping the charges because he knows they'd be humiliated in court. Tell his lawyers I am counter-suing Tallulah for defamation."

If Tallulah wanted to play dirty, Winona was more than happy to bury her.

Hayes relayed the message to Yulen's attorneys and called Winona right back.
