She had forgotten to arrange things for Sophia earlier, but since Sophia was employed here, the staff should have taken care of her.

Lance replied evenly, “She had some errands to run, so she left.”

Elara immediately shot him a look. That liar!

She had seen it clear as day; he was the one who kicked the poor girl out! Elara gave a soft scoff but didn’t push the issue.

Grandma glanced at Elara, catching the disdainful look she aimed at Lance, but she simply withdrew her gaze and kept silent.

Grandma shook her head. “Not at all. Lance has been taking great care of

me lately.”

“He’s your grandson-in-law, it’s his duty to look after you,” Madonna said smoothly. “No need to stand on ceremony with him. Order him around however you please.”

Grandma offered a kind smile. “Lance has always been attentive. But he’s injured now, so his recovery comes first. I can still move around just fine, I can help look after them both.”

Madonna quickly chimed in, “I’ll be living here from now on, so I’ll handle all the caretaking. We couldn’t possibly trouble you with that.”

She then turned to Lance, letting out a heavy sigh. “I can’t help but wonder how your grandmother is doing all alone abroad.”

“If you’re so worried, you’re free to visit her,” Lance remarked indifferently. “Or better yet, stay there and keep her company.”
