Chapter Eighty
The day of the marking ceremony arrived with a stillness that felt almost sacred.
From the very first light of dawn, Black Howler Pack moved with quiet purpose. The usual noise of training grounds and daily routines was subdued, replaced by a respectful calm that settled over the entire territory.
Even the wind seemed to carry reverence.
Diana stood near the large window of her suite, watching as pack members gathered in the grounds below. The space had been transformed.
At the center stood a raised stone platform-ancient, carved with markings of past Alpha Kings and Luna Queens. Surrounding it were banners bearing the crest of Black Howler, their deep colors moving gently with the morning breeze.
Beyond that-
Rows of wolves.
Pack members.
Warriors.
Allied leaders.
Every eye would soon be on her.
Behind her, Willow adjusted the final details of her dress.
“You look…” Willow paused, her voice softening. “You look exactly like a Luna Queen.”
Diana smiled faintly.
“Are you sure I don’t look like someone about to run away?” she teased lightly.
Willow huffed quietly.
“If you run, my brother will just hunt you down.””
That earned a soft laugh.
But when Diana turned to face her fully-
Her expression gentled.
“You’ve done so much for this ceremony,” Diana said quietly. “Thank you.”
Willow nodded.
“Of course,” she replied.
And for a brief moment-

Her smile reached her eyes.
Across the pack house, Talon stood with his father.
Rowan placed a firm hand on his shoulder.
“Today,” Rowan said, “you are not just marking your mate.”
Talon looked at him.
“You are declaring to every wolf here who stands beside you,” Rowan continued. “And who you will stand beside in return.”
Talon’s gaze hardened-not in anger, but in resolve.
“I already know,” he said.
Rowan nodded.
“I know you do.”
When the time came, the entire pack gathered at the ceremonial grounds.
The air felt charged.
Heavy.
Alive.
Diana stepped forward first.
Guided by Willow and Selene, she walked toward the platform.
Every step felt deliberate.
Grounded.

Certain.
Then-
Talon emerged.
The moment their eyes met-
Everything else faded.
The crowd.
The tension.
The history.
The future.
It was just them.

He walked toward her.
Steady.
Unwavering.
And when they stood face to face-
The world seemed to hold its breath.
Elder Alaric stepped forward, his presence commanding yet calm.
“Today,” he began, his voice carrying across the grounds, “we witness not just a union…”
His gaze moved between them.
“But a bond.”
“A bond blessed by the Moon Goddess.”
“A bond that will lead, protect, and shape the future of this pack.”
He raised his hand slightly.
“Talon, Alpha King of Black Howler…”
Talon stepped forward.
“Do you accept Diana…
His voice deepened.
“Not just as your mate…”
“But as your Luna.”
“As your equal.”

“As the one who stands beside you in strength and in purpose.
Talon did not hesitate.
“I do.”
Elder Alaric turned to Diana.
“Diana…”
“Do you accept Talon…”
“Not just as your mate…”
“But as your Alpha.”
“As your partner.”

“As the one you will stand beside-through power, through war, through peace.”
Diana’s voice was steady.
“I do.”
The wind shifted.
The bond between them surged.
Alive.
Powerful.
Unbreakable.
“Then step forward,” Alaric said.
They did.
Talon reached for her.
His hand warm.
Certain.
Diana lifted her chin slightly, exposing her neck.
Not in submission-
But in trust.
And when Talon leaned in-
The world fell silent.
His teeth broke her skin.
A sharp intake of breath left her lips-
But she did not pull away.
Instead-
Her hands gripped his shoulders.
Grounding him.
Anchoring them both.
The bond exploded between them.
Power rippled outward.
Wolves across the grounds felt it.

Felt the shift.
Felt the strength.
Diana’s wolf, Artemis, rose in response.
Not resisting.
Not yielding.
But matching.
Equal.
Then-
Diana turned.
Her eyes glowing faintly.
And marked him in return.
This time-
Talon inhaled sharply.
His grip tightening around her waist.
The moment sealed.
The bond locked into place.
And for a brief second-
The world stood still.
Then-
The howls began.
Loud.
Proud.
Unified.
Black Howler Pack welcomed their Luna Queen.
Talon pressed his forehead to Diana’s.
“You are mine,” he whispered.
Diana smiled softly.
“And you are mine.”

Not possession.
Not control.
A promise.
As the ceremony ended, the solemn atmosphere slowly shifted.
The tension eased.
The reverence gave way to celebration.
The gathering moved to the grand hall.
Music filled the air.
Tables were lined with food and drink.
Laughter replaced silence.
One by one-
The allied Alphas and Lunas approached.
Alpha John and Luna Mickey of Silver Havoc were first.
“Well done,” John said, clasping Talon’s forearm firmly.
Mickey smiled warmly at Diana.
“You carry yourself like you were born for this.”
Next came Alpha Arvin and Luna Christine.
