Chapter One Hundred Thirty Five
Clam
The time for them to leave for Stone Claw Pack finally arrived. The atmosphere inside the Rogue Kingdom felt different that morning. Heavier. Tense. Like the entire kingdom knew something dangerous waited ahead. In front of the pack house, two black vehicles were already prepared for the journey. Warriors moved quietly around them, checking supplies and fuel one last time even though the trip itself would not take long for wolves of their strength.
Still- no one relaxed. Not after everything that had happened. Not after Thorne. Not after the feral rogues. Not after the warning Ravenna gave them. Damon stood near the vehicles, dressed in dark clothing fit for battle rather than ceremony. Beside him stood Willow, wearing a fitted black coat over a deep crimson blouse and dark pants instead of a dress.
She looked more like a warrior queen than someone attending a celebration.
Honestly- Damon preferred it that way. A few steps away, Talon adjusted the cuff of his black shirt while Diana stood beside him in a silver-gray coat that matched her eyes almost perfectly. Even now- even while preparing for possible war- Talon still found himself staring at her. Fenrir huffed inside him.
“She is beautiful.”
“We are trying to focus.”
“I am focused.”
“You are admiring mate.”
“There are multiple things to focus on.” Talon ignored him. Mostly.
Nearby, Conall looked deeply unhappy. Which honestly surprised no one.
“My King..” Conall finally said again, clearly trying one last time.
Damon sighed heavily.
“Conall.”
“You are leaving the kingdom with no warriors.”
“Yes.”
“With possible enemies waiting for you.”
“Yes.”
“With the Alpha King and Luna Queen walking into what might be a trap.”
“Yes, Conall. I am aware of all those things.”
Conall crossed his arms tightly.
“I still do not like it.”
Damon stepped closer to his Beta.

“Willow and I already discussed this,” be said firmly. “Multiple times.”
Willow nodded immediately.
“We both agreed it would be best to leave all warriors here.”
Conall frowned.
“But why only the four of you?”
“Because the moment we arrive at Stone Claw with an army,” Damon answered calmly, “everything changes.”
Talon nodded slightly beside him.
“He’s right.”
Damon continued.
“As far as Stone Claw knows, Willow was attacked and later found her mate.” A pause. “They do not officially know that mate is the Rogue King.”
Willow folded her arms.
“And we would prefer to keep it that way for now.”
Conall still looked unconvinced.
Damon sighed softly.
“If we arrive with armed warriors from both kingdoms, Vanessa and Rafe will immediately know we suspect something.”
“And if this truly is a trap,” Diana added quietly, “we lose the advantage of surprise.”
Conall looked toward Talon.
“And you are truly comfortable leaving your Royal Guards behind?”
Talon’s expression remained calm.
“No.”
That answer surprised him.
But Talon continued.
“I do not like leaving my warriors either. But if Thorne attacks Black Howler while I’m gone, Enzo and Galvin will need every fighter available.”
Diana nodded slightly.
“The same goes for the Rogue Kingdom.”
Clam
A quiet silence followed. Because all of them understood now- this was bigger than Stone Claw. Bigger than Rafe. Bigger than a ceremony. Something else was moving behind the scenes. Something dangerous.

And they could not risk weakening their territories.
Conall exhaled sharply.
“I still do not like it.”
Willow smiled softly before stepping toward him.
“Do not worry, Conall,” she said gently. “We’ll be fine.”
Then she grinned slightly.
“Besides, my brother and Diana are with us.”
That made Damon snort softly.
“Thank you, mate,” he said dryly. “I can truly feel your confidence in my ability to protect you.”
Conall barked out a laugh immediately. Even Talon’s mouth twitched slightly.
Willow looked entirely unbothered.
“Oh, I believe in you too.”
Damon raised an eyebrow.
“That sounded forced.”
“It was.”
Damon placed a hand dramatically over his chest.
“You wound me.”
“You survived Talon trying to kill you. I think you’ll survive this too.”
Talon looked at Damon thoughtfully.
“I was not trying to kill him.”
Damon blinked.
“…That somehow makes it worse.”
Diana sighed softly beside Talon.
“Can all of you try behaving like adults for one morning?”
“No,” Talon and Damon answered together.
Willow burst out laughing.
Diana pinched the bridge of her nose.
“Goddess help me.”

Artemis stirred lazily inside her.
“We can still bite them.”
“No.”
“Just a little?”
“No.”
Before anyone could continue arguing, one of the guards approached Darmon respectfully.
“My King, the vehicles are ready.”
Damon nodded once. “Good.”
The mood shifted immediately again. Lighter moments vanished beneath the reality waiting ahead.
Stone Claw.
Vanessa.
Rafe.

Possibly Thorne.
Possibly another trap.
Possibly worse.
Talon stepped closer to Diana instinctively. His hand brushed lightly against hers.
“You still feeling alright?” he asked quietly.
Diana nodded.
“I’m fine.”
Fenrir growled softly inside Talon.
“She says that even when she is bleeding.”
“She really does.”
Diana narrowed her eyes slightly.
“You both know I can hear when you are talking about me.”
“Good.”
She rolled her eyes. But her fingers still intertwined with his briefly before letting go. Damon noticed it. So did Willow.
And strangely-neither of them looked away this time.
Because despite everything happening around them- despite the danger- there was something

eomforting about watching Talon and Diana together. Solid. Certain. Balanced. The kind of bond that survived storms. Willow wondered quietly if she and Damon would ever reach that point. As if sensing her thoughts, Damon glanced toward her. Their eyes met briefly.
And for once- there was no teasing. No tension. Only understanding. Then Damon moved beside her.
“Ready?”
Willow inhaled slowly.
“No.”
Damon’s lips curved faintly.
“Good. That means you’re thinking.”
Willow snorted softly.
“You really know how to comfort someone.”
“I try.”
“No, you don’t.”
“Fair.”
Conall walked toward Damon one last time.
“My King…”

This time, his voice was quieter. More serious. Damon looked at him fully.
“If something feels wrong,” Conall said carefully, “you leave immediately.”
Damon’s expression softened slightly.
“You sound like your mother.”
“That should concern you.”
“It does.”
Conall looked toward Willow next.
“And you.”
Willow sighed immediately.
“No.”
“You have not even heard what I was going to say.”
“I already know.”
Conall crossed his arms.

Then listen anyway.”
Willow groaned dramatically.
“You are becoming worse than Talon.”
“That is impossible,” Talon muttered.
Conall ignored him completely.
“If anything happens,” he continued firmly, “you stay beside Damon or your brother.”
Willow opened her mouth. Conall pointed at her immediately.
“No.”
She looked offended.
“I didn’t even say anything.”
“You were going to.”
“…Maybe.”
Conall sighed heavily.
“You are all impossible.”
“Yet you love us anyway,” Damon said smugly.
“That is my tragedy.”
Even Diana laughed quietly at that. For a brief moment-everything felt normal. Then the wind shifted. Subtle. But enough.
All four rulers felt it instantly. Talon’s expression hardened. Damon’s eyes narrowed. Artemis stirred. Cerberus growled.
The air carried no immediate danger- but tension. Like the world itself was waiting. Watching. Diana slowly looked toward the distant forest line beyond the kingdom walls.
“Something is coming,” Artemis whispered inside her mind.
“I know.”
Talon stepped closer instantly.
“What is it?”
