The Silver Wolf (Diana and Talon) novel Chapter 124

Chapter One Hundred Twenty Four

For the first time since the conversation began, the tension eased enough that everyone could breathe. Not fully. Not comfortably. But enough. Enough for shoulders to drop a fraction. Enough for the air in the room to lose its sharp, cutting edge. Enough for words to settle instead of collide. But only for a moment.

Because beyond the walls of Damon’s office- danger still waited.

Stone Claw.

Vanessa.

Rafe.

Thome.

The feral rogues.

A web tightening slowly around all of them. And a ceremony in one week that none of them could ignore.

Diana’s gaze shifted, the softness from moments ago fading into something sharper. Focused. Strategic. The Luna Queen once more.

“Tomorrow,” she said quietly, but with certainty, “we start planning.”

Talon didn’t hesitate. “Yes. Tomorrow.” His tone was firm-but gentler when he looked at her. “Today, you rest. You regain your strength.”

Diana opened her mouth to argue- Then closed it. Because she knew him. And because, this time… he wasn’t wrong.

Damon watched the two of them, something thoughtful passing through his expression.

“We will gather everything my pack knows about the Silver Wolf,” he said.

His voice carried weight now-no arrogance, no pride. Just purpose.

“Every story. Every record. Every rumor passed down through generations.”

Diana met his eyes without flinching.

“And everything you know about why you searched for me.”

No hostility. Just expectation.

Damon nodded once. “You will have it.”

Willow looked at him then. Really looked at him. And for the first time- she didn’t just see the wolf who had hurt her.

Or the male who had taken her choice. She saw something else. A king trying. Not perfectly. Not gracefully. But honestly. Trying to fix what he had broken. It wasn’t enough. Not yet. But it was something. And for now-something was all she was willing to give.

Then her eyes glazed slightly. Subtle But unmistakable. A mind link. Damon noticed instantly, his gaze sharpening

Talon’s posture shifted as well,

When Willow blinked back into focus, her expression softened.

“For now,” she said gently, “we can go to the food hall.” A faint smile touched her lips. “I just received a mind link-lunch is ready.”

Her eyes moved to Diana, then to Talon. “Unless you prefer to eat in your room.”

Talon immediately looked at Diana. “What do you think, my mate?”

His instinct was clear. Keep her safe. Keep her resting. Keep her close. But he didn’t decide for her. Unless he wants to hear her say to shove it in, you know where.

Diana smiled faintly. “I would love to have lunch with everyone.”

She shifted slightly, still leaning into him for support.

“I’m sure your pack is wondering who the two strangers are, that you let inside your territory.”

Damon answered before Talon could. “I already sent a pack-wide mind link.”

His tone was calm. “They know who you are. They know you are allies. And they know everything is under control.”

That earned a brief nod from Talon. Not approval. But acknowledgment. They all stood. Movement slow at

first- Then natural.

Damon moved first.

Willow beside him.

Behind them, Talon walked carefully with Diana, his hand firm at her side, ready to catch her if she so much as swayed.

Conall followed quietly.

Watching. Thinking. The walk through the halls of the Rogue Kingdom was… different. Eyes followed them. Respectful. Curious. Cautious. But not fearful. When they entered the food hall- everything changed.

The moment Willow stepped inside- the pups noticed. And just like that- they ran.

“Luna Willow!”

Their voices echoed together, full of excitement and joy. Willow didn’t hesitate. She dropped to her knees, meeting them at their level.

“Hello, everyone,” she said warmly.

The shift in her was immediate. Natural. Effortless.

“You didn’t have breakfast with us, Luna Willow,” one of the younger pups said, pouting slightly.

Willow’s expression softened. “I’m sorry, little one.”

She brushed a strand of hair away from the pup’s face. “We had visitors from the Royal Pack.”

She gestured gently behind her. “See? This is my brother, Alpha King Talon… and his mate, Luna Queen Diana.”

The room quieted. Not completely. But noticeably. Curious eyes turned. Pups. Warriors. Healers. All looking. Especially at Diana.

There was something about her- Something they couldn’t explain. But they felt it. Safe. Warm. Strong.

Diana noticed. And without hesitation- she lowered herself. Carefully. With Talon’s support. But she made sure she was at the pups level. Always.

“Hello, pups,” she said gently. “It’s very nice to meet you.”

“Hello, Luna Queen Diana!” the pups responded in unison.

One of them stepped forward boldly.

“Wow… you’re really beautiful.”

Diana laughed softly.

“Why, thank you.”

Her eyes sparkled.

“You’re all very handsome and beautiful yourselves.”

She glanced briefly at Willow.

“No wonder your Luna is so proud of her new pack.”
