Chapter 266: Sebastien’s Response-2
My heart swelled at his words, “He really did, Dad.”
“Thank you for listening to my advice, Bella,” my father said softly. “I know it wasn’t easy to face that crowd, but you did it together.”

“I will always listen to you, Dad,” I said, a tear finally slipping down my cheek, warm and comforting. “Your advice has kept me grounded.”
“That is a father’s job,” he said. “But there is one more thing. Olivier wants to visit you.”
I glanced through the glass pane of the half-open kitchen door. In the living room, Caleb was holding Victor, and Tom was showing him a new toy.
“Olivier?” I asked, turning back to the counter. “He wants to come to my house in Silverton?”
“Yes,” he said.
A small smile touched my lips. “Tell him yes, Dad. He can come.”
“Good,” my father said, his voice full of quiet relief. “He needs to learn how to be a brother. He is trying, in his own stiff way.”
“I know he is,” I said.
“I will let him know,” my father said, his voice warm. “Take care of yourself, Bella. Kiss the children for me.”
“I will, Dad. Take care of yourself too,” I replied.
“I always do. Goodnight, my sweet girl,” he said.
“Goodnight, Dad,” I said.
The line went dead. I stood by the counter for a minute, taking a deep breath before pushing the door open to join my family.

By eleven that night, the house was completely dark and quiet. I was lying in bed, the sheets pulled up to my waist. Caleb was sitting right beside me, his back propped up against the pillows, reading a book under the dim glow of the bedside lamp. Victor was fast asleep in his bassinet near the corner of the room.
Suddenly, my phone screen flashed on the nightstand. A new notification popped up. I picked up my phone, plugged in my earphones, and pressed play.
Enzo’s loud, energetic voice filled my ears instantly. “Right! So, Olivier is coming to visit you in Silverton. I just saw him packing his bags this morning, Bella. He packed his absolute nicest, most expensive suit, which means he is incredibly nervous. He only wears that specific suit when he is terrified. He wore it to meet the Rothschild lawyers, he wore it to Papa’s sixtieth birthday, and now he is wearing it to see his sister. I find it very moving, but I will completely deny saying that if anyone asks me.”
I pressed my lips together to hide a smile, watching the cursor move across the audio file.

“Please be nice to him,” Enzo’s voice continued, bubbling with his usual warmth. “He does not know how to be a brother yet, but he is trying so hard. He literally practices his sentences before he speaks to people. Oh, and tell Tom and Grace that I miss them so much!”
The audio track clicked off. I pulled the earphones out of my ears and sat there staring at the dark screen.
Caleb closed his book and looked over at me, noticing my expression. “Was that Enzo?”
“Yes,” I said, putting the phone down on the nightstand. “Olivier is officially coming to visit us. Apparently, he packed his absolute best suit for the trip.”
