Chapter 256: The Next Day-1
Bella pov
The heavy glass door of the private room clicked open the next day.

Tom walked in first, his small frame rigid under an oversized yellow hospital gown they had made him put
His face was completely serious, his jaw set like he was a man on an important mission. Nadia followed quietly behind him, giving me a warm, reassuring nod as she closed the door.
Tom didn’t say a word at first. He walked straight to the center of the room, stopped, and stared at the plastic incubator.
“Mom?” Tom whispered, his grey eyes wide as he looked at the tiny baby inside the box. “Is that baby?”
“Yes, sweetie,” I said, leaning forward in my bed. “Come closer. You can look at him through the glass.”
Tom took three very careful steps forward, keeping his hands tightly glued to his sides. He leaned his forehead near the plastic, his breath fogging up the surface. “It is so small, Mom. It looks like a little mouse.”
“He’s a premie, Tom. He came a little early,” I explained softly. “But he is very strong. And he is your new baby brother.”
Tom’s head snapped up, his eyes shining. “A brother? A real brother?”
“A real brother,” I smiled, my throat tightening up with emotion. “His name is Victor.”
Tom turned back to the glass, looking down at the tiny baby with absolute devotion. He looked like he had suddenly grown two inches taller.
“Hi, Victor,” Tom said, his voice loud and formal in the quiet room. “I’m Tom. I’m your big brother. I’m going to teach you about dinosaurs and how to be a person.” He stopped for a second, thinking hard. “Not at the same time, probably.”
I pressed my lips together so I wouldn’t sob out loud.
Later that afternoon, after Tom and Nadia had gone back home to rest, the heavy glass door clicked open again.
I expected a nurse, but instead, my biological father, Sebastien Marchetti, walked in, tying the back of a blue hospital gown over his clothes. Behind him came my younger half-brothers, Olivier and Enzo, both smelling strongly of antiseptic soap from the mandatory scrubbing station outside
I stared at them in total shock. “Dad? Olivier? Enzo? What are you doing here?”
“You gave us a terrible scare, ma chérie,” Sebastien said, his voice thick with relief as he walked straight to my bedside. “Caleb sent a text to our family group chat. He said your water broke early, you were in emergency surgery, and that we needed to get here.”

The moment Enzo stepped fully into the room, his eyes bypassed the incubator entirely. He locked onto Caleb, who was standing quietly by the window. Enzo’s face flushed red with pure fury.
“We saw the news on the flight over,” Enzo hissed, his voice trembling with rage as he marched straight toward Caleb. “You cheating bastard. The whole internet is talking about you and that woman while my sister was here bleeding in a hospital bed, fighting for our nephew’s life!
Enzo bunched his hands into fists as he got right in Caleb’s face.
Olivier stepped forward too, his expression icy and territorial, silently backing our younger brother. Caleb didn’t move. He didn’t raise his hands to defend himself or deny it. He just stood there in his oversized hospital scrubs, his jaw clenched, prepared to take whatever blow Enzo was about to throw.
“Enough!” Sebastien’s voice cut through the air like a cracked whip. He didn’t raise his voice, but the sheer authority in his tone made both of his sons freeze.
