A few hours later we were in the kitchen because Ruth had stocked the kitchen and neither of us had any particular reason to go anywhere and cooking had become one of the small domestic things we’d discovered we were good at together.

I was doing something with tomatoes when he came up behind me and slid both arms around my waist and pressed his mouth to my neck, warm and deliberate.

I tipped my head and felt the familiar pull of it and then said, “Caleb.”

“Mm.”

“We just had sex.”

Four hours ago,” he said, against my neck.

“That’s recent.”

“It’s really not.”

“I’m cooking.”

“The tomatoes can wait,” he said, and I could feel him smiling against my skin.

“Let me finish this,” I said, “and then we can discuss your timeline.”

He pressed one more kiss below my ear – and stepped back. “Fine,” he said. “I’ll open the wine.”

He set a glass beside me and I looked at it and felt my stomach do the small quiet thing due to the smell of the wine, I picked it up and took a sip and put it back down and hoped he hadn’t noticed.

“Good?” he asked.

“Mm,” I said, which was not technically a lie, just a redirect.

We ate on the terrace with the dark sea below and the sky enormous overhead, and he talked about a conversation he’d had with James before we left and I talked about a deal structure I’d been turning over in my head.

I pushed the fish around my plate more than I ate it. He noticed but didn’t say anything.

After dinner, Caleb didn’t let me clear the table. He caught my hand and pulled me against him, kissing me slow and deep until my knees felt weak. In two steps he had me backed against the cool white wall of the living room.

He lifted me easily, my back pressed to the wall, my legs wrapping around his waist, as he bunched my gown upwards baring me to himself.

He stripped himself of his knickers as his c**k nudged my entrance. With one smooth thrust he sank all the way inside me. I gasped at the sudden fullness.

Calcb held me there, fucking me against the wall with deep, steady strokes. At the same time he lowered his head to my breasts. His mouth closed over one n****e, sucking hard, tongue flicking rapidly over the tight peak. He didn’t stop – sucking, licking, and gently biting one breast while his c**k drove into my p***y again and again. Then he switched to the other n****e, sucking continuously, wet and hungry, while his hips kept that relentless rhythm.

The dual sensation – his thick ck stretching and filling me, his hot mouth devouring my breasts – made me dizzy with pleasure. I cried out with every thrust, my fingers digging into his shoulders. He sucked harder, pulling my n****e deep into his mouth as he pounded into me.

I came suddenly and violently, screaming his name, my p***y clamping down around his c**k in strong pulses. Caleb groaned against my breast and kept fucking me through it, sucking and licking until my orgasm finally ebbed. Only then did he thrust deep one final time and come inside me, flooding me with warmth.

He held me against the wall for a long moment afterward, both of us breathing hard, his face buried between my breasts. Slowly he lowered my feet to the floor and kissed me softly.

My legs trembled the instant they touched the ground. I leaned heavily into him, thighs aching.

“Caleb… I can’t go any longer,” I whispered, voice hoarse. “I’m so sore I can barely walk.”

He pulled back just enough to look at me, grey eyes soft with concern and lingering heat. Without a word he bent down, slid one arm behind my knees and the other around my back, and lifted me effortlessly into his arms. I wrapped my arms around his neck as he carried me toward the bathroom.

He kissed my cheek gently, then the other, his lips warm and tender against my flushed skin. “I’m sorry, love,” he murmured. “I can barely control myself around you. I don’t know how the hell I survived all those years without you.”

I let out a tired laugh and rested my head against his shoulder. “You mean all those time you spent pretending I didn’t exist? Must have been torture.”

He chuckled, the low sound vibrating through his chest as he set me carefully on the edge of the large bathtub and turned on the warm water. “It was. Every single day. And now I can’t keep my hands off you for more than a few hours.”

“Poor thing,” I teased, still mocking him even as I winced a little when I shifted. “So strong and powerful, brought down by one sore wife.”
