The Rogue is a Female Alpha novel Chapter 430

Chapter 430

Cupid

I drive into Godlike Pack, alighting and heading into the hall. When I reach the corridor that leads to father’s study, I take a deep breath, trying to strip off the anger twisting in my chest and the concern clawing at me about Snowflakes. Then I step in. The guard opens the door immediately.

I walk in and bow before my father. He sits behind the wide desk, pen in hand, finishing whatever he writing. He doesn’t look up until he’s done.

“You are here,” he says, and I straighten, nodding once.

Yenda and Desmond are also in the study. Yenda stands at the desk, while Desmond waits by the wind in silence.

I glance at Desmond, trying to ask with my eyes what exactly happened to make Evalina change her m but before he can speak, my father’s voice cuts in.

“I talked to Draven. He said you met him the other day. Didn’t you?”

I turn back to him and nod.

“Yes, I did.”

“What do you think of him?”

I pause, thinking.

“He’s in a wheelchair. There’s nothing much about him.”

“The more reason you have to be on his daughter’s good side.” He glances at Yenda. “You will hand over the financial accounts to your brother. Let Yenda handle the money now. He has learned his lesson and won’t be rash with laundering. That’s your turf. For now, you will go to Draven’s home and have fun. Stay there until I hear good words from Evalina and she is satisfied. Then she will agree to partner with us. Okay?”

Silence drops after his words. I swallow as seconds pass. Traveling to the city where the Dravens live has never been an issue.

This isn’t the first time I’ve gone to bed with a client to win their favor. It’s always been fun, always just fuck and forget, until now. Until Snowflakes. Until she refused to leave my head.

This morning stunned me. When she snapped, something cracked inside me. That ache, that realization that I seem to matter to someone I gave nothing to, someone who wanted me enough to cry.

I lower my gaze, frustration sinking into something darker. I want to call her Hear her voice. I hate that she went back to that crazy man she calls her husband, but looking at my father again, I know his words are low. I’ll do no good if 1 start resisting now.

I walk to the table where the documents lie, the ones stating that I’m handing over hnancial authority to my brother. 1 stare at them for a moment, then pick up die pen and sign.

Chapter 430-

I reach for another page and sign again. Then I pull the third document, ready to sign, but pause. It’s a order to withdraw me from coordinating the charity event.

“I won’t sign this,” I murmur, but Yenda’s voice comes immediately.

“There’s no need for you to attend the charity event or coordinate. Someone else will handle it.”

“I will. Don’t worry.”

“My assistant will do that…” he starts, and that’s when I lose it. I lift my gaze and stare at him cold, sharp furions

es through the room. He stares back, hatred simmering but also curiosity, wondering why I want to be the event coordinator so badly when I hated the idea before.

t have time to go to any charity event, smiling or hugging anyone,” my father says quietly. I

eyes dropping from Yenda. I am losing control. “Besides, you won’t be coming back from this t ew Year’s Day, probably.”

ter. I look at my father. I want to nod and stay silent, but I can’t. The more I try, the more bitterness pain rise.

I will clear my mission at the Dravens’ before the new year, Father. Let me be the charity event coordinator.”

He pauses, startled. Our eyes meet for a brief second before I lower mine, and I know he senses somethin is wrong with me.

Finally, he nods once.

I step back, drop the pen, and turn toward the door, but then his voice comes, directed at Desmond.

“Fix my son’s flight for tomorrow night.” I freeze. “Make sure he doesn’t miss it.”

“Yes, Uncle,” Desmond replies.

I leave, my jaw set.

My father picked up on something, but he can’t place it yet and it feels like he’s sending me far away before I go astray.
