I clung to the foolish hope that they would stop at kissing. I truly expected Ares to draw the line there, but he didn’t. Right in front of me, he made his infidelity a cruel, deliberate spectacle.
While my gaze was still fixed on them, he dragged his zipper down and pulled out his thick, already rigid cock. Lencia was perched on the edge of the dining table, legs spread wide, moaning breathlessly even before he touched her.
Ares hooked one finger into the soaked crotch of her panties and yanked the lace aside. He tore open a condom packet with his teeth, rolled the latex down his shaft with practiced ease, and then simply pushed forward, sinking every inch into her in one slow, merciless thrust.
Lencia’s head fell back, a shameless, guttural moan spilling from her lips as he filled her completely. The wet sound of her pussy taking him echoed through the room like a slap.
Ana stood frozen at the counter, back turned, hands still gripping the dish towel, but there was no escaping the noise.
Lencia’s cries grew louder, higher, needier, with every brutal snap of Ares’s hips.
He gripped her thighs hard enough to bruise, kissed her hungrily, swallowing her moans while he fucked her right there on the table where we’d eaten breakfast that morning.
The rhythmic slap of skin on skin, the wet squelch of her dripping arousal, the creak of the table beneath them; every filthy detail burned itself into my mind.
He sped up when he got close, pounding into her without mercy, veins standing out on his neck, jaw clenched. Lencia clawed at his shoulders, legs shaking, and then he slammed deep one final time, hips jerking as he came with a low, animal groan, pulsing inside the condom while she whimpered through her own climax.
When it was over, Lencia sagged against him, boneless and spent. Ares wrapped an arm around her waist, lifted her easily, and shot me one last cold, disgusted glance over his shoulder before carrying his mistress out of the room like a trophy.
The front door clicked shut behind them.
I swallowed hard, biting my lip until I tasted blood. My knees buckled. I swayed, vision swimming, but before I hit the floor Ana was there, catching me, guiding me gently into the
nearest chair.
She hurried to pour a glass of water, hands trembling almost as badly as mine. I took it, fingers shivering so violently that water sloshed over the rim.

The ache in my chest felt like a living thing trying to claw its way out. He didn’t even pretend to hide it anymore. No fear. No respect. He wanted me to watch. He wanted me to feel powerless.
Tears burned my eyes. Barren. That’s all anyone ever saw when they looked at me. A useless, barren wife.
“You will be fine, Madam,” Ana said softly, voice thick with sympathy. “Perhaps you should speak to him.”
I shook my head, tears finally spilling over.
“There is no way forward from here, Ana. I am done with Ares Bani. I have already filed for divorce.”
She froze, eyes widening, face going pale.
“You will let a beast snatch your husband’s place, Madam?” she whispered. “You have been in this house since the very first brick was laid.”
“And I will not stay here and die of heartbreak,” I answered, voice breaking. “I am getting the divorce. My brother is handling everything. I only need one witness to take the stand, to testify to Ares’s infidelity… and I will finally be free from this torture.”
Silence stretched, heavy and tense. Ana didn’t move, but her eyes filled with understanding and quiet fury on my behalf. Then she stepped closer, lowered her voice to the softest whisper.
“Can I stand as that witness, Madam?”

I circled the date and stared at it again before reaching for the papers that showed the details of St. Coast Parish. I sighed softly at them.
It’s a big place for nuns, priests, and orphans, and it will be the first location Cupid and I visit to make our donation. However, tomorrow evening we’re expected to come speak with the priest in the parish, and that got me wondering what to do about my charity-coordinator partner.
Sitting alone in the library, I stared at the papers before me for a long time before shifting my gaze to my cellphone. He hasn’t called. Not a single text. Nothing. And that got me thinking… that got me feeling cheap.
We shared something, and deep down I know it wasn’t ordinary, not meaningless. I felt something for Cupid. That was why I opened my body to him, why I was submissive with him but getting nothing in return makes me feel no different from Lencia.
Lencia? She is even better than I am. At least Ares calls her, rushes to her when she calls. But

Cupid does nothing.
Since morning I have waited for his call. Even though I kept telling myself I wasn’t, I know deep down I was waiting for either a call or a text, but nothing came. Now I bite my lower lip, trying not to use the charity event as an excuse. I tell myself it’s business.
I pick up my cellphone and dial his number, which rings at first. My heart begins to thud as I wait for him to pick up, but in the end it cuts, leaving my chest empty.
