Behind the wheel, I let out a heavy sigh and reached for my cellphone to see a message from my best friend, Dove, asking how was feeling.

I had carried her along in everything except Cupid Godlike.

I am fine, Dove. Heading home now to rest. Good night.’

I replied, dropped my phone by the seat, and pulled out, riding toward Ares Mansion while Praying inwardly that he wouldn’t be home.

My car rolled to a stop in Ares Mansion, but I couldn’t move. Couldn’t alight. My fingers stayed frozen on the steering wheel because his car was already parked there. Which means he is home. Which means I might not have the grace to escape him tonight and pack my luggage for Frost Family house tomorrow morning as early as possible.

After mounting up enough courage to breathe, I finally stepped out of the car and walked into the house. At the hall, Ana didn’t show up. The air felt wrong immediately. Something cold. Something warning. The house was too quiet, eerily, bone-deep silent.

I moved slowly, almost dragging myself further in. The living room was empty. My eyes drifted upstairs on their own, and a shiver stabbed right through me. He must be in the bedroom.

I let out a shaky sigh, deciding that after taking my bath I would sleep on the sofa downstairs. Anywhere away from him. I climbed the stairs, reached for the door knob, and turned it.

The moment I stepped in, I froze.

Ares was there. Sitting on the bed. His posture still, stiff, eyes glued to the roll of condoms on the floor, and the used one I had abandoned earlier that morning. The sight of him staring at that was enough to make my blood go full ice.

He must have been sitting like that since I left this morning. The silence in the room was so thick it felt

alive.

I dimmed my gaze and didn’t speak. I walked straight into the bathroom, washed up, then headed into my closet and get dress in a Jean trousers and a lacy blouse. I reached for my travel bags and duffel bags, opening them quietly, ready to start packing. My hands were shaking, but I swallowed it down.

His voice sliced through the air.

“How long have you been aware?”

The question made my blood run. He asked it plainly. No guilt. No shame. No apology. Just… curiosity. As though he forgot he’s the villain.

I ignored him and continued packing, but he came to me, kicked the bags aside, and yanked me up to my feet.

“Tell me when you knew. Since when?!” His eyes were wide, full of disbelief, stunned that he had been sloppy. Careless. Then it clicked for him. “Wait.. was it that night she called me by my first name? Is that when you picked it?”

“Let me go, Aves. I don’t have time for this.” I murmured, trying to yank my arm away, but his grip only tightened.

The force jolted me, making me stumble, and we both froze. Him staring at me in disbelief, me staring at him with a hatred so deep it almost numbed me.

He dropped his gaze, swallowing tightly.

“Snow… let’s talk about i can explain everything.”

The words didn’t move me. Not even an inch. They hit my skin and fell away like dust. All I felt was pain. Endless pain. Pain for the years I wasted loving him. Worshiping him. Building my life around him. Pain for trusting him. For believing he saw me as a partner, when in truth, I was just a decoration, unwanted, unappealing, used, silenced, betrayed.

Tears stung my eyes. I never wanted to cry before Ares. Never wanted to. But the tears came anyway, burning hot.

Ares stiffened at the sight, and his hand slowly lifted to cup my cheek, his eyes full of apologies that came too late.

“Snow… I swear to you, I’m sorry.” His voice trembled, but I didn’t know what to believe anymore. If anything.

He cheated. He protected the culprit that order for me to be gang raped. Manipulated me to stay silent. Tried framing my brother. And now he thinks sorry will fix any part of that?

“It’s over between us, Ares.” I murmured, tired, absolute, final. “I will drag you to the lowest pit in both werewolf territory and human region if that’s what it takes to get a divorce. My brother is freed tonight. So prepare to appear in court.”

His face drained all at once.White, pale, terrified at the mention of Kashi’s release. His grip faltered, his breath stilled. I didn’t wait for him to recover because I knew once he did, the monster would return.

I drop the idea of packing and simply escape down the stairs.

“Snow? Snow!” he suddenly shouted. His footsteps/thundered down the stairs after me, but I didn’t look back. Didn’t give him a chance.

A man capable of hiding my assault, manipulating me, framing Kashi… could just as easily snap my neck.
